And you got real Bears, we just got little ol Black Bears!
Yup, kinda gotta keep your eyes open around here.
You never know when or where them critters might show up. Keep the apple trees cleaned up.
I walked out of the house early a couple years a go and had a sow griz and 2 of her cubs up in the apple trees. They sure did scar up the bark. Been pretty quiet this year. Not many chokecheries again this year but man was the Huckleberries thick.

We do have a pair of resident Bobcats tho. But man they are reclusive. But they are fun to watch hunting in the pasture. They take the coyote hop to a whole nother level.

That's pretty cool. I've only seen one Bobcat. Had a cool interaction with a wolverine.

@Sublime one : did you shoot s deer yet?
I wish, I ended up in Missouri doing a four day training block during the season (muzzle loader). I will now have to wait till modern gun. Our boys were all successful tho. Reckon our family won’t starve! I guess I need to start bow hunting but holy smokes a guy can only have so many black holes for money!

Ain’t that the truth!! I have a 9 year old son that thinks I should buy him all the hunting stuff!!

Working alone has it's challenges.
But sometimes it is honestly faster!
However, setting posts it sure would be handy to have the extra set of hands,
ya gotta hold post,
hold level on post,
hold bracing to said post,
nail gun in other hand.
That is four things that need to be captured with two hands! Once ya get the first one captured the rest are a bit easier.

Sounds like a Dad opportunity to me! Cut grass all summer is rifle, take out trash all winter is ammo, clean cat box (if applicable) priceless! Dishwasher duty for new camo coat as they grow at that age faster than they can wear out the clothes! Knife, keep room clean. Etc etc etc!

Well, theres some of that going on too. I have an 11 year old daughter that likes to hunt too!!’

Got the granddaughter with, dogs are making sure she is safe! Swear they are worse than mother hens! They protect little people like nobodies business.
Have you seen the TV program called "The Dog Whisperer"? I've learned a ton from that guy in just a couple episodes. He has a dog pack for training purposes.

I have and like you just watching a few episodes I got all kind of insight. I thought I was fundamentally sound in my K9 training skills but after watching him it dawned on me I got nuthin! He is for real.
