So running into an issue trying to locate a premade Boot wire running from the HEI coil to the CHrysler dizzy.
I have the 66 dart, switching over from points. I have all the parts and wiring, except the wire to connect the eCoil to the Chrys elect dizzy. The eCoil I have is the 3 terminal type like ACdelco D577. See pics. The connector is male, but it is tiny male. I don't know official name. It then needs to run to Dizzy with the standard Male end (going into female on Dizzy).

I thought I needed Belden 701050, but that is not correct for my eCoil. I have searched everywhere and having no success at finding a cable. Any one have any leads or part numbers? I do have the original wire BTW so I could cut it off and refit for the Dizzy, if such a thing is ever done. Or does anyone know the official name of this plug so I can track it down?
HELPPPP.

I've seen those e-coils before, and I forget what that connector is called. If you find out what that connector is called I'm sure you could get Aurora or Magnecor to make you one to go from that coil to the distributor.

You can get e-coils with the post style connectors (like a spark plug).

Just yesterday I was making a new set of hei wires for my car from a moroso kit. I like the male ends on the dist cap, hence the new cap and wire kit.

I think this extra connector they included is for the female hei coil like you have. I didn't use it as my coil is also male.

If you have a crimper you could just crimp up a cable with it. I didn't have a crimper so I got one from Summit with the wires and cap. It was only $13, and now I have one for the future.

Anyhow, if anyone can confirm that this is the right boot and terminal, I'll be happy to send it to you for the price of shipping.

Best,

CE

I do HEI ignition kits for sale and have never seen a conversion wire for that application. (I know that type coil you have)
Just use the OE wire for the coil end and a spark plug crimp end on the distributor.
The coils we use in our kits are the ones with the sealed connectors and male terminal for the coil wire, so we use a female connector at the coil wire and a male connector at the OE distributor.

Hi ValiantOne, sure I can use that terminal. It is the right kind for the eCoil. Can you mail it?

Update:
Anything that says Secondary Terminal, is not going to work. You have to search for HEI terminal, and even then it usually comes in a pack of 8 or more.
I did find out from Magnacore, to make me a 14 inch cable to work, is $20 which includes shipping.
I did find the normal distrib terminal from Belden for $.50. Then I found a Bench Vise crimper for $12. I am gonna try to reuse the OE from the HEI dizzy (from junkyard), cut off one end, then try to crimp on the Belden terminal and see if it works. If all that fails I will grab that HEI terminal/boot from you.

That terminal posted doesn't fit your coil, as your coil takes a special terminal and the one pictured is for a regular plug wire to distributor type female connection.
What you need is the coil wire for that specific coil type and put a regular style distributor cap terminal on the other end like your OE coil wire has on the distributor end

Do you know the name of the terminal I need? All I can find is Secondary terminal, Distributor terminal, HEI terminal sparkplug, and normal spark plug. What is the name of the connection I need?

Looks like you are fooling w/ some early GM parts. I would switch to a 85-95 GM "external coil". It has a standard HV terminal. If you also use their 8-pin HEI module, it connects w/ a factory GM cable w/ sealed connectors. Cheap at any junkyard, or buy TrailBeast's kitted set. Also gives the option of commanding spark timing from an engine controller like Holley Commander 950.

The coil he has is a later design of the HEI coils I use, and were usually on GM products like Buick-Olds-Pontiac with that "all in one" bracket system like this.

Thanks for the mention by the way. :D

Thanks for the photo TrailBeast. I have seen those discussed as a retrofit, probably on the megasquirt site. The nicest feature is you get a heat sink for the module, plus 1-stop shopping on mounting both module and coil. The 8-pin module mounts inside the distributor, which serves as its heat sink. I think they term such exposed modules an "ignitor", especially in Japanese cars. But, it appears wiring one is more involved.
