can anyone give me some advice, the throttle lever on my 904 tranny is stuck in position,it is all the back towards the rear of the car. it won't seem to move no matter what position the shifter is in.i have installed a new 408 stroker motor and a shift kit in the trans.while installing a new b&m floor shifter i discovered the throttle lever will not move.thanks in advance for any advice on wat to try next...........ROB

You'll have to pull the pan and valvebody. Sounds like something didn't go right with the shift kit install.

I'm hoping that isn't it. I've double and tripled check everything I did with pictures and re-reading the directions over and over tracing my steps. Is there anything else you think could be preventing the lever's movement? I appreciate your help. - Rob

Have you unhooked the throttle pressure linkage from it to see if it's in the lever or the linkage?

thanks badsport for the reply, the linkage has been disconnected and removed, I was planning to use the lokar cable set-up, would the engine have to be running in order for the throttle lever to move even tho nothing is hooked up to it? Also, there is only about 8 pints of fluid in the trans right now, had to make new cooler lines, didn't want to fill it up yet due to possible leaks.

...............U need to pull the pan, pull the v b..... put the linkage back in properly and adjust the clearance.....make sure the screw is catching the tab so it wont go past......kim......

Yep, the lever is out of position where it is supposed to contact the throttle pressure valve.
It's not a big deal and you may get away with just pulling the TP lever loose by removing the e clip, pull it down a little and reposition it where it goes.
