How did nitrous get such a bad rep...?

My buddy won speed week or whatever they call the race where you drive from track to track. He raced a Chevy powered mustang with nitrous on it. He sold the car to another buddy with less experience and he messed up the next year at the first track and did good but didn’t win. That car is sold and I’m pretty sure they are both going turbo now. I wish I was younger and knew more about them. If so I would have one.

Like I was saying earlier my son's going to add a Roots blower to his turbocharged Honda and use nitrous to cool it down LOL... He'll catch Dad one day LOL unlike 318willrun still trying to catch his son:poke::D..

Original B1 heads. They are flowing in the 420 cfm area and there’s more on the table but I had to get the engine together. I took molds of the intake ports so I can lean on another set of B1 heads I have here a little harder.

I really love your thermostat gasket. 11.0's I thought we were talking about fast cars! If your ever in Detroit let me know and bring $$$$$$$$$ I don't laugh I just race.

11.30's aren't 11.0s and you had to spray to get there big deal..can do that with a "rice burner"...

Well if your ever in Detroit look me up and I'll just use my Rambler stock block, stock cast iron heads. Bring $$$$$$$$$$$$ :poke:

First and foremost this thread isn't about my set up this thread is about the stigma around nitrous and you are a shining proof of someone who's never tried it and doubting it. I have never tried nitrous and currently do not have a complete setup on my car...
Now that you're off work maybe you have the time to figure out how to put two bolts and a hose clamp on your thermostat housing? Or even take time to learn how to rebuild your own transmission? I bet you're the kind of guy to have someone tune your carburetor for you and adjust your timing...lol...

Ya we have to have some fun. Here in Michigan right now we have someone die about every 20 minutes. Hope we all agree to stick together on this. And a GREAT BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE TRUCK DRIVERS because without them we wouldn't have anything anywhere. Most company drivers don't get paid well so if you know of one drop off a care bag or a little cash. Thanks everybody.

Stroking340 aside, I was really looking to see if this was a stigma made by people who are either naive about it scared of it or just basically like most scared of the unknown.... And it does seem to be just about that. With the exception of one person who just felt it got a little expensive doing the refills... But nonetheless tried it and loved it...
 
Pro charging supercharging or turbocharging is accepted as a viable power adder and not cheating wear nitrous is considered cheating and not worthy...
The simple fact remains that they are all power adders either forcing or amplifying air into the intake system plain and simple...
