How to Kill an Earworm

Anyone have any good advice on how to get earworms out of your head? I have had Cat Stevens' Peace Train stuck in my head for like a week now and it's about to drive me insane!!!:banghead: I have tried listening to Peace Train several times, it's still stuck their. I have tried listening to Led Zeppelin, Korn, Pink Floyd, Godsmack, The Beatles, Chingy, AC/DC, Stone Temple Pilots and when I finish listening to music I still go back to freakin Cat Steven's lol!

I've even tried listening to some of my favorite songs from my bandgeek days and I'm about ready to find a Peace Train to run my head over so I don't have to listen to it anymore lol!:D:violent1:

So what do you guys and gals do when you get an earworm?
 
So I should go drop the exhaust off my slant and listen to a pissed off weedeater.......

Find someone who can't sing...and have them sing it.

Works almost instantly.
 
Sing the Gilligan's theme song to the tune of Amazing Grace. Works every time for me.
 
That would work and keep telling yourself that Yusuf Islam is a person of interest to the CIA and HSA and not allowed into the USA anymore.

I listen to/sang/hummed Painted Black - Rolling Stones, clears up all other songs in my head-but that just might only work for me. Worked great when deployed and all of us would try and get a song stuck in each others' head while standing watch together for six or more hours every (18 hour) day. As soon as we caught the next guy singing/humming we say "download complete" and mark up a point for ourselves. -More points if they could not stop. Imagine a bunch of brothers trying to annoy you and you are stuck inside. Thank God for the Rolling Stones.

1. walk in the front door after a hard days work.
2. kick off your shoes and walk straight to the fridge.
3. grab a beer and have a seat on the sofa
4. kick all your wife's **** off the coffee and put your feet up.

you wont hear anything over the screaming. lol
 
No Tiny Tim that will drive ya insane. Listen to this over and over for a few days then all you have to worry is the devil.

Go do some hard strenuous work that will make you concentrate on what you are doing and maybe then you will be too tired to hear anymore voices.

Do NOT listen to KC and the Sunshine Band "That's The Way I Like It". Seems to just replace one earworm with another.
