Its got this going for it.
 
6 years ago I had installed an auto value Moog one on my 66 Valiant, bought it new, didn't even last a year, I installed my original one back in and ran it till this year, I finally swapped in the replacement one they gave me for free, I'll see how long it lasts.
 
Someone recently had photos. Some idlers have plastic bushings that evidently fail with heat. I don't have the solution for ya
 
I'd think a wee little heatshield would make a world of difference.
 
Thats funny I just had my swinger on the jack inspecting play in my Idler arm, and looking for sales slip...its a moog and it lasted about 2 and a half years probably 5k or so im pretty sure heat is the reason for failure...headers yes :rambo:
 
Is it a 67 year model?

If its a 68 or newer there used to be a rebuild kit you could get for it that replaces the internals with a pair of ball bearing races, metal spacers, and a grease fitting. I bought 2 ,of these kits on ebay a couple of years ago. They can be removed, and installed in a different idler arm when the other end wears out.

I believe these were old moog service repair kits for idler arms. It doesnt fit the 67 only idler arm tho.

I went to a Genuine Spicer and so far so good. 1K miles and as tight as the day I put it in.
