I got lucky when I was in the navy and saw a really small audience show he did for the uso I guess at Guantanamo Bay! *& or so. His brother was the commodore for the fleet and stayed on my ship USS Shreveport. JC came on board and kind of was like a regular guy eating and talking with us. And his niece also came on board for a night and she was a beauty queen at the time I forget if she was miss A or not something like that. Great couple of days.

During the time that Johnny Cash released the Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt" my father died of cancer. Each time I hear the song tears come to me.

This was just posted on another site I frequent. And, damn it, wouldn't you know they were just in this area back in January and I didn't go.

On Dec. 04 1956, Elvis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis, happened to be at the Sun records recording studio at the same time. It's the record label that gave them all their start. It turned into an impromptu jam session and was the only time they played together.
The Million Dollar Quartet tour is a reenactment of that event. We saw it last eve. at the Honeywell Center in Wabash IN, a great venue BTW. The show is outstanding and the Jerry Lee Lewis impersonator is unbelieveable. I highly recommend if you get a chance to see this show, don't pass it up.
