Kyle Busch lost his Drivers License for 45 days due to his little joy ride in new Lexus "supercar" a while back where he was clocked at 128mph on a two-lane road. The story online today says he blew past 3 police cruisers heading to lunch going the opposite direction.
Too bad NASCAR doesn't require a driver to hold a valid Drivers License to be able to drive in their series. I believe missing 6 Cup races and getting knocked out of the championship race would get his, and his sponsors, attention.

If it had been a normal person like me I would, they would have taken my license permanently and the car too. Fame does have it privileges.

I know my local circle track requires a drivers license.Wonder how much"private fine allotment funds" took care of it.

He was also fined $1000.00. Any normal folk wouldda served some time. He should, too.

Around here I need a valid drivers license just to go bracket racing. Why should he get a pass on the rules?

Any sort of sanctioning body that I have raced in requires a valid drivers license. SCCA, WKA, MCSCC all require it.

The only time I got caught doing over 100 mph I got a $230-something dollar ticket.
Maybe Busch should appeal.

The local straight track will not let you on without a license.

The 5 tracks here require a driver license or you do not race ....
I say make him set in the crew chiefs stand and deal with it!!!
We don't need to change the rules for a driver if he is a good driver or not...
I bet if it was a low budget team driver he would not get in a race car...
I can't wait to se what happens, I would be holding a sigh and :protest:

Here are the rules they have not been changed for anyone. I don't like Kyle Busch either but come on really guys get off the kids back. He is a good driver, a little rough and sometimes winey if he finishes poorly but who wouldn't get mad after a strong day then a 25th place finish. And most states do not make a habit of taking an out of state residents license for more then 45 days especially if the driver doesn't spend very much time per year in that state. I just checked the NC laws and there are no laws for speeding that fast except over 15 mph over the speed limit if going over 55 mph. And that is a 30 suspension!! The only laws for more then that are if you got a reckless driving and 15mph over in the same year and that is 60 days. He didn't get special treatment he got the LAW. Quit hating this kid for being good. He was given his punishment by the state of NC of you don't like it run for office. And here are the Nascar rules.

Section 3-6: Minimum Driver License Requirements:
A. To secure and maintain a NASCCAR Competitor License as a race driver, a NASCAR member at a minimum must:
(1) Be at least 18 years or age
(2) If requested by NASCAR Officials, submit to and pass driving ability tests conducted by and at the discretion of NASCAR Officials, whose decision as to the applicant’s driving ability is final and binding on the applicant.
(3) Be physically fit as determined in the sole discretion of NASCAR. In this regard, NASCAR may require a Competitor or applicant to submit to and pass one or more physical examinations by a qualified physician(s).
(4) Execute and deliver to NASCAR such authorizations, releases, applications, consents, waivers, resumes and other documents as may be required by NASCAR from time to time.

Good for him. It really dosent matter to me either way, I just really dont like him. Maybe that will knock his cocky attitude down a notch or two.

why should you need a drivers license on private land ?

only reason some tracks came out with that bs rule is likely to stop those who been caught drunk driving in the past from racing on their tracks--all to prevent crashes...he wasn't driving drunk, what threat is he to the other racers just cause he speeds on a public road...answer, none, let him race

who is this dude anyhow, me don't follow racing too much, too many rules and its not how good you drive but who you are..how come so few blacks are NASCAR drivers?

oh I'm a white guy but blacks are in equal numbers in some sports but not auto racing..guess they can run fast, shoot baskets great, hit home runs, make outstanding outfielders but can't drive as good as the white boys--no way is it racist sport

what tracks ?
Hart Land race way, Crowlies Ridge raceway, George Rays Wild Cat drag Strip, Newport Drag Strip and Centerville drag strip. Yes we have a few more.

This does add some light to the subject :coffee2: And his skill on the track is outstanding to say the lest  I jumped on this thread becouse a young gun was doing 105 in a 45 MPH zone and they took his CDL license and drivers license for 60 days, but that was driving on public roads, but the dirt track just 10 miles away let him race and after takeing second place in the IMCA fetcher race a race team protested and they took his winnings and his points away :coffee2:
I can see now where the nascar license are different then a regular drivers license :coffee2:, I or most folks carrying a regular drivers license could not pass a test to get a NASCAR drivers license... I don't dislike any driver, they are in the moment and all of them can't be like Mark Martin, I am glad there are different personalities out there :D The world would be a dull place to live in :D Thank you for the insite dusted72, I was in the moment I guess :D

Hay Sgt :D He does have one and he has admitted he needs to change his attitude and out look on things, But back in the day I was a humble driver and everyone new it, But there has been times that people would be surprised if they seen me climb out of my car upset with another driver for diving into turn 2 or 4 faster then he could handle the turn just to use me as a gard rail to get past me, one time is a give me but after four times and taking my rear axles out I turned into a man on a mission and told the driver off and the track owners for not black flagging him as he took my 3rd place finish away on the last 4 laps, he did get a slap on the rist but my car was smashed up bad on both side's him pushing me into the wall and my drivers side 1/4 and rear end totaled. memike was mad and most people agreed but it happens :D and it was all the track owners could do to keep all my friends and other racers out of his pit area.

the person that said money doesn't bring happiness certainly had no understanding of money, now the lack of money does bring alot of unhappiness!

I'll be the first to admit that I've done things just as stupid as Busch has, but I'm not in the public eye, nor am I any kind of role model. Busch's antics, on & off the track, set a very poor example for the youth of today. Because of his status he should be held to a higher standard. Nascar can't punish him, but his sponsors can & should.

KYLE BUSCH, STEP UP & ACT LIKE THE MAN YOU PROFESS TO BE.

Phyllis Diller is credited with saying: (paraphrased)

'They say rich people aren't happy. Well, I've been poor, and I've been rich. I was a lot happier when i was rich!'

So what about my 180 mph jaunt on I-10 on my bike ??

Should I lose my CDL ?

Should I go to jail ??

Of course, there was nobody within 2 miles of me so the only person I endangered was myself.

i'm sure if you keep it up you will lose your CDL and eventually hurt someone.

There are a bumnch of black drivers at my local 1/8 mile drag track. A lot on bikes too. Somehow they seem to have lotsa moolah.

Only a 1000$ wow tge other day I was cruising and threw it in second to pass some cars up then got back over to the slow lane back to normal speed and I see a cop doing the same thing I did with his lights on to catch up with me he pulled me over and told me I had two choices either a ticket for exhibition of speeding that could be about 750$ or I compound your car for 30 days and bye the time you go to get it out it would be around 2000$....

Luckily he let me off with a warning but compare my little move I did to that guy doing 128 mph. I don't think its fair

Traffic laws aren't circumstantial. The speed limit is the same whether you're alone or in traffic.

Also, police officer do have some discretion in these matters. The outcome is usually based on your demeanor.

The question becomes: Did you break the law?
If so, what do you think should happen you?
