Judge Takes Kyle Busch' Drivers License

Nascar lost me when they all started driving Spec racers. Its not Nascar anymore don.t know what it is? What happened to "race on Sunday and buy on Monday"
They all look like toyota's now
it would be so cool if the ford looked like a Mustang or the dodge looked like a challenger or camaro vise versa.
i know they are allowed to drive aggressive---big deal! Corporate greed has once again riuned a good sport. Gotta have millions and corporate sponsors -no little guy race teams like the old days can even think about going racing . Tickets are so fricken expensive!! I went to a race in my town -Joliet- at Route 66 raceway and it was fun gettin drunk(tailgating) Give me Grass roots drag racing anyday at the small drag Strips. You don't no what your going to find and who is running what-FUN
just my 2 cents

Only a 1000$ wow tge other day I was cruising and threw it in second to pass some cars up then got back over to the slow lane back to normal speed and I see a cop doing the same thing I did with his lights on to catch up with me he pulled me over and told me I had two choices either a ticket for exhibition of speeding that could be about 750$ or I compound your car for 30 days and bye the time you go to get it out it would be around 2000$....

Luckily he let me off with a warning but compare my little move I did to that guy doing 128 mph. I don't think its fair

That's California this is North Carolina. Completely different set of laws there. North Carolina doesn't have a fine maximum but they do have a penalty max. He got lucky with his fine but what is the difference between $1000 and $10,000? Anything more would just prove that since he is a rich famous athlete then he should pay more then the average shmo out there. They gave him the fines and punishments that the laws prescribe for the given crime. They don't have penalties for what might have happened, just for what did happen.

i remember a high speed chase a while ago where this black guy was racing another car on the frwy in his bmw doing 100+ well the helicopter followed the bmw and sent about 20 cop cars after him when they pulled him over all of the cops had there guns pointing at the car and when he stepped out he got rushed and slammed on the ground...

he wasnt running or he didnt rob a bank he just got cought speeding in LA he got his licence taken away car impounded and a hefty fee to go with it

He gets the advantage of driving faster than that on a track. He needs to control himself on the street like everybody else. He should save those urges for the race.

Since he is in the public eye, he should step up and be an example of what to do, not what not to do.

The only ones entitled to drive that fast and endanger the public are the police. The laws do not apply to them (or so they think/act like it).

I agree with this 100% he shouldn't have to be told not to do stupid stuff like this. He should already know. But then again there is that rush of doing something you know is wrong if noone is looking. We all know we do it when there is noone around. We get a little heavy with the right foot occasionally, it gives that sudden rush that we all love.

i'm sure if you keep it up you will lose your CDL and eventually hurt someone.

Well, I have over 2 million miles with NO at-fault accidents and that does not include riding my bikes, driving my cars and Dakota.
I have NO points on my license and have had a safe-driver endorsement on my CDL ever since they started giving them out.
And like I said, there was nobody within 2 miles of me.

Does that make me a heinous felon?
I have seen people that can't drive in a parking lot.

Same here Dave, a perfect driving record, I have had my wife's chysler up to about 95 just to get out of the truckers way where some idiot was hoarding the fast lane and honk the horn as I past her to get out of the fast lane :protest:
She was doing maybe 52 mph and on the phone so as soon as I could get an open lane on the slow lane I romped it to the floor and before I new it the pacifica V6 was flying
I have rethought this and after reading these posts I have learned allot and I agree Kurt got caught and paid his fine, the media is going to be all over this come Thusrday.. in my life time I was careful and never got caught
Keep up the great work Dave and enjoy the wind in your face
We don't know what tomorrow will bring :D

OK!! I am a little jealous =P~, I miss riding :D

Completely irrelevant. The law is the law, whether you're alone, or not.

Does that make me a heinous felon?

If you continue to break the law, yes, it does.

Let me correct that, it makes you a traffic criminal and a scofflaw.
You seem to be of the opinion that because you're a good driver, that the laws don't apply to you, while you're alone in a public road. I know, that you know that completely false. Even as good a driver as you appear to be, the law is the same for you as for anyone else.

As I stated earlier, the law is not circumstantial. Even when you're alone on the road, the law still applies. There is no special dispensation for riding alone on a public road.
further, if you did crash, even if you have absolutely no regard for your own safety, what about your loved ones? They lose you! Isn't that a wonderful way to tell them how much you care about them?

There also the fact that in the event of you having an accident and killing yourself, there is a cost to the tax payers for the police and emergency workers who will respond to the accident, and do the clean up, and such.

You can make all the justification excuses you want. It's still against the law, and it's still the wrong thing to do. Period.

I have seen people that can't drive in a parking lot.
Also irrelevant. What others do has no reflection or justification on what you do. You are your own person, you are responsible for yourself, and your actions. You're opinion of the driving abilities of others is just another attempt to justification your behavior even though the reality one has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

why should you need a drivers license on private land ?

only reason some tracks came out with that bs rule is likely to stop those who been caught drunk driving in the past from racing on their tracks--all to prevent crashes...he wasn't driving drunk, what threat is he to the other racers just cause he speeds on a public road...answer, none, let him race

who is this dude anyhow, me don't follow racing too much, too many rules and its not how good you drive but who you are..how come so few blacks are NASCAR drivers?

oh I'm a white guy but blacks are in equal numbers in some sports but not auto racing..guess they can run fast, shoot baskets great, hit home runs, make outstanding outfielders but can't drive as good as the white boys--no way is it racist sport

Wendell Scott, Willie T Ribbs, and - I have forgotten his name- but there was an engineer who was in Craftsman truck Series who went up another race series...all black. Not a high percentage, mind you, but it is kinda like white boys in basketball/football. There are some of each in each 'sport', just heavier on one than the other in different areas. And I'll bet before too long there will be more blacks in NHRA and NASCAR, just as there are more white, Eastern Europeans showimg up on the basketball courts (not to mention Yo Ming, straight outta China!)

As far as Kyle Bush is concerned- 128+ in a 45? Neighborhoods and a preschool nearby...what a stupid asshole. There is a time and a place for doing that, and that was stupidity on an epic scale.

Kyle Busch got caught. That's his bad luck.Who hasn't floored it a few times on a public road but lucky didn't get caught.I done 80 to 85 on a county dirt road to my farm a few times.Yeah its a 35mph zone.25 miles from town,no one out there. Why not?Tracks require drivers license?Sounds like they trying to limit their liability. As mention before,no law requires you to have one to drive on private roads or property. No Kyle Busch Fan but he can drive, better than almost anyone and everyone.Who won last race and points leader? Up Date: #18 Truck was a good driver.Oh well thats Bristol.LOL

Frankie,
Ever driven across Texas at 55mph? There is 874 miles on I-10.
Ever drive over the speed limit? Even 1 mph?
Ever cracked the 4bbl open just to hear it?

I don't crank it up to 180 all the time, in fact I did it just once.
It was between 2 exits and I went west to scout it out and came back east. There was NOBODY on the road.
There is a time and place for everything.

Kyle was in the wrong place and the wrong time.

Do you remember when Richard Petty hit somebody (actually just tapped) the rear bumper of somebody that absolutley refused to move out of the left lane where he was holding up a bunch of traffic?

And as far as cleaning up..I was a vol. fireman and EMT for 18 years back in my younger days and I have probably cleaned up more accidents and handled more dead bodies than you will ever see.

And here comes the kicker..I ( and 3 cops)used to teach the EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course) to everybody in the county that drove a cop car, fire truck or ambulance.
That takes in ALL the parameters of driving fast (but safe) in all kinds of traffic. Huge amount of defensive driving where you have to anticipate what every idiot on the road will or will not do when your paths cross
I even showed a couple of the people how to do a controlled
drift in a 1 ton Ford ambulance.
My road racing experience paid off.

You are correct...180 is illegal.
But so is spitting on the sidewalk. And it is a bio-hazard.

Sure, we all have sped. I have slowed down after getting two tickets in a year. Now I set the cruise at 5 mph over and just putt along. If not, my license would get suspended also. That is the difference. Eventually you get caught. The more you do it, the more likely you are to get caught. Most police won't bother you for 5 over, but push 10 -15 and then they may pull you over. BUT DO 83 MPH OVER, THEN THEY WILL DEFINATELY COME AFTER YOU. That is the difference between the "average Joe" and what Kyle did. How many times did Kyle do this before getting caught? He gets to do that legally on the track every weekend! Us regular guys don't get the opportunity to do over 100 and not be able to get a ticket. The least he could do is wait until he can do it legally on the track every weekend if he has the urge to do it and not put the public at risk.

The braking distance goes up exponentially with speed, not linearly. The momentum equation is momentum = mass X velocity squared. Velocity being speed. So at 80 MPH you are 6400 X mass for momentum. For 100 MPH, you are 10, 000 times your mass for momentum. For 120 MPH, you are 14, 400 times your mass for momentum - over twice the momentum of 80 MPH and only a 40 MPH increase. This increases your braking distance significantly and also your ability to stop and control your vehicle.

He got caught doing that, and that is why it is so bad. Statistics would say he did this many times before and got away with it before he got caught. For all of those out there that say "I did it also and didn't get caught". How many times have you done it, one or two? Just keep doing it and see what happens when you do get caught... Then you can be like Kurt.
