Junk Yard in Phelan California

-
Is this yard still open? My brother live in Phelan and he has never heard of it.

Is that the guy that use to bring all the Mopar engines to Springfling?

The saga continues. I got the rear end installed along with a new driveshaft. When I bought the 8 3/4 from Daryl Finch in Phelan, CA, I paid him additional money to replace bearings, seals, gears, etc because the unit was used, I thought I would give him the business for being such a great guy and having the only 8 3/4 rear end made for an "A" body available. Well, I got 12 miles out of it. The car is in the shop having the differential gone through.

Update - Well Daryl really got to me. I paid him to go through the differential and replace any parts that needed replacing.
Today they took the diff out and found it was full sand and crap. That is bad but, nothing in that rear end is Chrysler. It is all Chinese junk. He knew that and sold it to me as original "A" body parts. I can't wait to see this bill. Oh yeah, the gear company thinks the case/axle housing is from a B or C body.

This life is an adventure.
Stay the course.
Sand is bad, m'kay?
I wasn't aware china was making 8 3/4 inch differential carrier reproductions.
Hmmmm.
Sorry for the bump in your road.
Where I live, cars rot and die unless you spray $$$ at them frequently.

I looked into the origin of the parts and found out they are probably not Chinese. I was told they were from an "offshore" source. Car is going back into the gear shop tomorrow to try to solve some strange noise other than expected gear whine or clutch noise.

Has anyone been able to get ahold of this guy recently. For the past few weeks I have been calling to get ahold of him and I get no answer. I have called and emailed him. Thank for any information.

Hi there, I just join the forum just so I can write a post. I also got taken with Daryl. He is not a nice person to deal with. Pretty aggressive attitude when I was at his junk yard. I bought a set of seat belts and other parts for my 71 Challenger. I was not too familiar with the specifics of the design, but A friend of my is knowledgeable and when he saw the seat belts, my friend said that they are for a B body and not a E body. Well the story is that as what happened with you, no answers text or phone calls. I finally got through him and he blew me off saying it was my problem. I told him as a Mopar specialist, he should have known to sell me the correct seat belts. Now I'm out of $350 for the wrong parts!!!

I know that this is a old post, but I just want to warn you if you still are looking for Daryl Finch in Phelan CA. Be very careful, he has an aggressive attitude and not so nice. Once you buy the parts, you are on your own. He does not refund your money and you probable will be stuck with a defective part or wrong part. He gave me the wrong seat belts and now I'm stuck with them. No right seat belts and out of $350. Beware if you are planning on buying parts from him.
