There was a guy around this area many years ago and very religious and high up in the church. Biggest crook that ever walked this earth. You didn't dare bend over in front of him.
if you'll allow me the leeway...lets say just for sake of argument that God is real, the devil is real and the Bible is true
(not asking you to believe this, just hypothetically)

that would mean that the Church is God's representative on earth (the Bible calls us ambassadors)

how do you think satan would deal with that?
he would infiltrate the Church, put a few jerks in there and ruin its reputation, no?

personally, i believe that happens...a LOT

i also believe that there are people, who get saved, join a church and spend the rest of their lives doing more harm to the cause of God then good (the closing verses of John chapter 2 shine an interesting light on this)

now, i understand we're not here to debate religion so lets consider this
even been to a restaurant, and you had great service and great food?

then you come back a week later, and the food is still good, but the service was terrible (and as a result, the food was lukewarm when you got it, and not as good)
what happened?
you got one bad egg who ruined the experience for you
now, what if it was a chain, are you going to boycot all of them?

of course not, you try to avoid the one bad egg and dont throw out the baby with the bathwater

i think a lot of people dont give the church the same consideration and take one bad egg to throw out the entire batch

Glad you have a good fellowship I did when I was your age. Well up to when I was 45 anyway.

Found this old recipe the other day and it is old about 40 years old or more. Well made it tonight as best as I know how.

Hi DIY ... You have a good point but I just don't believe in the bible. The fact that someone came down to earth to save us might be true but I believe those people were Aliens from another planet. You've probably seen pictures drawn on the inside of caves that show a person in a craft of some type with a dome over their head. This could be taken as a halo. We've all heard about Area 51 which is so top secret and rumored to have aliens there.
If there really is a God then why is he allowing people to suffer with cancer, dementia, alzheimers etc etc.
Then you have groups like the PTL Club (AKA Pass The Loot) or Ernest Angely. Biggest fraud who ever walked this earth and makes millions. May he rot in hell if there is such a place. Jim and Tammy are another pair and so on. They pray on the vulnerable in the name of The Lord when all they want is their money.
I was born at night just not last night.

Morning BP
Have a good weekend?
Sure did Mark. Finally got a chance to throw away most of the worthless paperwork my mother-in-law had cataloged. All insurance related. A lot of what she thought was important was actually garbage. It's been a long 3 years trying to figure out what was current and what was obsolete while orchestrating the last years of her demented life. Luckily for her and her family, I had time in my life to take care of things. She was ready to go and to be blunt , so were we.

I have a good friend who is now 89 years old. Very sharp. He said "don't live past 80". I think the bible says we are supposed to live to 70 or so. Then again, I have a customer who is 90 and golfs and just got re-married. LOL. All rested up for the week. Got a nasty fender repair ahead of me. First step is the carwash. It's a construction rig and it's filthy. Have a good day Bud.

Morning BP sounds like around here we got to wash a lot of trucks so we can work on them.

If the death isn't bad enough to handle it's all the paperwork afterwards.
After my in-laws passed we had a massive job clearing out the house and paperwork from the bank and ins companies. My father-in-law kept everything right down to all the receipts he had from when he built his house back in 1953 and the first insurance policy when he started driving. No exaggeration.
Have a fun filled day my friend
