I heard you were gonna get hammered with snow Stay safe Biff.

Still -25 and clear and dead calm. Waiting for this cold snap to break then I’ll go roust the Dart out of hibernation. Got a few little things I want to get done for the up coming season. Have a warm day gents

Need to do the same I want to repack the front wheel bearings and change the rear end grease.
Need to move the gas tank over just a bit, it's rubbing on the exhaust.

When I dug the dart out after 39 years of hibernation one of the items on the TO DO list was take gas tank out check it and get it steamed out. For some reason it got parked with 3/4 tank of #1 in it. Pulled the tank dumped the gas into pails boy did it stink took sending unit out looked inside couldn’t believe what I saw got a flashlight looked again the thing was like brand new not a speck of rust any where. Still can’t believe it. But that gas would hardly burn had to hold a flame on it for a while to get it to go

I'm surprised but guess with the tank being almost full it kept the moisture out.

Finally seeing a change for the better, warmed up some overnight, now 21*, with a 15 mph breeze from wsw to make it feel like 9*, but it is a whole lot better than the last few days. Might see 34* later today and up to the high 40s again midweek.
Sure hope that makes its way out east to you guys.

Maybe premium fuel had something to do with it. I still can’t believe it but I saw it
Premium probably helped, but being near full would have been more effective to keep out moisture as Fred said. My Ventura sat for 18 years before I got it, and much the same scenario, tank was nearly full of nasty crap that barely burned with a flame held to it, but once it was drained and flushed out it was very clean inside.
I rebuilt the carburetor and replaced the fuel pump, reverse flushed out the fuel line, and I also changed the fuel filter every month for the first year or so. Been no problems since except I had to change the pump again a couple years ago.

Did the same but a brand new Holley carb and electric pump. Still change filter twice a season. Cheap insurance

I think non ethanol premium grade fuel is the best for long term storage but that's all I use in all my cars and small engines. Expensive but never have a fuel issue.
Also once a year put a can of seafoam in all the fuel tanks.

Filled my 88 chevy truck with premium. I knew it was going to sit for a while just used it around the ranch. Lol, my 1/2 acre ranch. Six years later it was getting low on fuel and stinking and hard starting but it still started and ran.

Yeah that e85 is garbage and attracts moisture from what I was told. I always use premium in my small engines and they always run better. At the end of every season I always add Sta-Bil and has never let me down.
Anytime I go away on a long drive I always put injector cleaner in the 300. Purrs like a kitten
