Sometimes heating them up a bit helps before installing them.

Got a question for you gear heads. Noticed my 09 GMC pick up with a 5.3 and under 100,000 miles, started to puff out white smoke at start up.
Today I checked the oil level and was changed less than 2,000 miles ago was about 1 quart low. also checked the water level and looks good not getting water in the engine from what I can tell.

Not yet Charlie got the 3:23 case all cleaned up and waiting for the gasket and a can of Por-15 to paint it.

i will be bringing this truck in for some body work soon, including patch panels around the wheels, so im gonna let them install a set

I just put rust patches in a Dodge like yours. More aftermarket junk. Fit like crap.
I’ll bet you really like that gear ratio with that stroker. No burn outs with the peg leg though. They aren’t as strong as the Suregrip.
Thinking I will the 4:10 gears were just to low and hard not to spin the tires.

What happens is the springs on the lifters fail and cause trouble. You can but a delete kit and eliminate it cam and lifters etc
