I did a lot of welding in Alaska once upon a time. Money is great but it is a captured audience for sure. You pay out the nose for everything. But the soil can really produce some veggies, super long grow days! You leave the bar mid morning and sun is still up!
My son lives off the land pretty much up there built a cabin grows whatever he needs and barters for what he can't grow.
I can't live that way anymore did that for 5 years in Washington up by Morton but to old to keep it up. Had a great time there no power living on a hill. At night me and the kids would read a book or tell stupid make up stories. No TV, wood stove and candle or lantern. Outhouse and the wife cooked on a old kitchen wood stove, Had propane fridge and hot water. Life was good.

Well off to my second job first day talk to you guys tomorrow

No he came here to get a truck for his brother in law that lives not far from him in Alaska.
Long story but trucks are expensive there and what he paid for the 2005 4x4 here 4,500 and just over 100,000 would have been twice that much there and in worse shape. Yes fuel cost to bring it back was an issue but he was able to visit and take things back that cost more there than here so he will make money.
The same when I worked at a GM dealer in this area. People who lived on the East coast would drive up here and buy a new car as it saved them lots of money due to shipping charges. Then G.M. decided every dealer would pay shipping charges. We used to pick them up at the shipping company only a few miles from the dealership saving hundreds of dollars. Safe journey home.

That sucks pay for shipping and no shipping expense.

I think it's my turn for cold and wet just glad I got my lawn mowed before it rained.
Yeah have to do it when you can. Just don't do it when the grass is wet. Rusts out the base really fast.
After I change the oil I get a old paint brush, clean out under the deck and brush with oil. Slows down the process for sure. The older lawnmower we have has a cast deck so I can cut wet or dry.

I bought a used 0 turn a couple years ago and try to keep the deck clean as I can. They cost to much to let them rust away. Oil is a good idea Mark easy and cheap protection.

One more day this week and next week also of working doubles. Sorry guys but no time to post. I will try to squeeze some farming in also. lol
