Original throttle cable and kickdown were not working properly with the AVS2 carb so I switched to the Lokar set up. Problem now is that I can't get it set all the way to WOT, I can only get it to about 80% before the it starts to interfere with idle speed when released. Does the throttle lever kit #1481 correct this or I am I missing an adjustment somewhere? I have the original gas pedal setup and no interference with the new throttle cable. Thanks for any help and Happy Thanksgiving.

Yes, you need the Mopar throttle lever adapter.
It's all you would have needed with the factory linkage, too (unless you were trying to use 2 bbl. linkage, then mods are required).

Thanks. Throttle lever kit will be here Tuesday. Car was set up without the kit when I purchased and I assumed the Lokar parts would correct the problem, then I got out the Edlebrock install manual and saw the requirement. I do like the kickdown cable better than the original rods.

Yes 1481. You may also need to trim the stud portion that goes through the firewall as it can be too long and prevent the pedal from going full travel. I custom made an aluminum bushing for that end too to fit better in the firewall opening and to have something to tighten it all in (hard to explain)

I also had to align, and bend slightly to get the most travel, the bracket that the cable end hooks into as well (inside the car)

You will probably have to put in a shorter lever at the transmission too in order to ensure full travel of the kick down lever.

I’ll see if I can get some pictures together. I did attach a pic of the shorter lever you may need. It’s common Dakota one.

Also, you could fit a 1/4 nut and bolt or something in the slot to keep the cable at the top of the pedal slot for a little more travel at the carb linkage.
Try to make sure the pedal travel stops just before (or right at) WOT at the carb linkage to help prevent premature cable failure.
