And here a 300 hp crate don't know if this is the same one but even with 318 manifolds makes 315 hp and a max of 327 hp with tti.

First problem is racing dyno’d. Even if it is the same dyno, there two different engine built the same way which does not guarantee the same results. Then there is “that 15 years ago” comment which is the big key that fell on your head pretty hard knocking the Sensibility right out of it. That’s 15 years dude! 15 years! Crap wears out. It wasn’t a brand new engine. Even if such it was, small changes are sure to be abound.
Did you happen to notice the header being used by Rich?
Actually in the article they were try to sell edelbrock heads intake and comp cam which said to make 129hp at the time.
Such a pessimistic view. I have no idea when you get off saying he’s trying to sell some thing. It’s what he used. Nothing more nothing less.

Make sure you post your Dyno results when you do your engine. This way you can have every “A” hole in town claim how you’re trying to sell **** and taking money under the table like a backstabbing piece of crap. That’s what it boils down to really. What you will need to do is prove Richard is on the take. Good luck with that.

Wish it didn’t have crap in the way of reading the good parts.
Sorry lol not very good at copying and pasting links with my phone. So a few screen shots was the best I could do.

But I do agree that the cracks between the seats on magnum heads mean very little in the way of performance.

I'm pretty sure that with a 52mm throttle body that he might of went close to the 320hp mark stock. But everyone gives up on the fuel injection then slaps a carb on. The 5.9 dakotas and rams have been repeatedly dynoed at around 320 with a tune, long tubes and 52mm throttle body.and the track numbers backed it up

Mopar should have sold only one crate 360 and used that cam, instead of one with no cam and one with too much cam.

The one Richard used is not far off the one I used in my mild 360 magnum build:
  • Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 276/284
  • Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 210/218
  • Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .492/.492
  • LSA/ICL: 112/106
  • Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd
  • RPM Range: 1200 - 5200
Mopar performance actually made a similar cam. I believe the the part number was . P5107548 272/278 advertised duration 216/[email protected] .482/.496 the confusing part is they listed it as a 119 centerline but finally finding my old note books and it is actually a 110 installed. They listed the laca as stated in the screen shot instead of centerline. Wasn't many choices 20 years ago so that's what I went with

Would you double check that cams part number for me please.

That wasn’t my point, I don’t think they are playing with Dyno numbers to sale things some of these magazines builds are from some of our own members, I know a lot on here think magazine builds have false dyno readings. My point was to the other member that if they were selling anything would’ve been the edelbrock and comp stuff not the crate engine. Ya could be the age of the engine, it’s 15 years old but only has dyno time on it or the headers or carb since they are different. That manifold/headers shoot 318 manifolds did better than these headers. Guess it could even be a different dyno by now.

Would like to see him put the intake and cam in the junkyard 5.9l and see if it backs it up.

P5007548 so not 510 another crappy screenshot

I appreciate Richard and the builders on this forum and even the friendly neighborhood 318willrun for documenting improvements that we can follow or at least learn something from.

Richard also talked about getting a 5.2l and matching 5.9l mods. Which really interest me.

I hope to be able to return the favour one day.

Speaking of magnum heads I tried to sell a good set for $30… nobody even asked about them…so I tossed them outside
