Making progress on my Demon

It's a factory replacement that Retro sells that's been updated with better materials for the speaker. The radio is a factory AM/FM unit. I don't know much about the internal workings of a radio. It plays pretty well. The radio is out of a 73 Duster but believe it's the same as what come in 71s..

Interesting. It must have the extra resistance wired in. The info sheet says replacement for 8 - 10 ohm, but the speaker says 4 ohms. I learned something new. Thanks.

I believe you have to connect both channels with a supplied wire which takes it to 8 ohms.

When I installed my new fuel system I purchased a new Holley electric fuel pump. It ran but wouldn't pump any fuel. Called Summit and they sent me a new one. I just got finished installing it. Hopefully this one will be ok.

I figured out the problem with the fuel pump. Turns out it wasn't the fuel pump. What was happening was instead of pumping the fuel through the mechanical pump to the carburetor it was pumping back into the fuel cell. I have separate fuel lines for the mechanical pump and the electric pump. They both run into a Y junction with one line coming out going to the mechanical pump on to the carburetor. I installed a one way check valve on the fuel line coming out of the fuel cell for the mechanical pump and it stopped the electric pump which is on a separate fuel line coming out of the fuel cell from pumping it back into the cell instead of through the mechanical pump.. Works like it should now..Finally..

She's fired up and running. Had some trouble sealing up the rear main seal. Pulled the pan along with the main seal bridge and #5 main cap. Took .006 off of the end of the bridge and installed a new main seal and side seals from Dan Dvorak. She's sealed up now, no leaks. Still trying to figure out why my electric fuel pump is not pumping fuel to the carburetor. She sounds good. Oil pressure is good. New Cold Case radiator cools great. Have all the factory gauges working along with the new Autometer ones. All the lights turn signals side marker etc working so new wiring harnesses went in with no trouble.
I figure

I guess I missed what size carb you had, I love those brawler carbs.
Is your demon going to see the street at all or is it a race car only ?
It'll see some track time. Going to cruise it around some and hit some of the cruise ins. I pulled the Mighty Demon off of it and put on this Quick Fuel carb. It's a 750 mechanical secondaries. It'll be a little more street friendly.

What size rear tire ? Wheel and off set?
31x16.5x15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman..
The wheels are Weld Pro Stars 15's ..14 inches wide....5.5 back spacing....5x4.5 bolt pattern.. I've not measured the section width yet or the rollout....When I do I'll post those measurements.

Wow, kind of tough answering 2 different threads for the same car. I can merge them if you wish.
