Making progress on my Demon

and the valance...cripes. hate to see crap like this. no use going back to who did the work?
I probably should have purchased a new valance to begin with. My original wasn't rusty it just needed to be straightened in a couple of areas and had a few dings that required hammering and dollying. I'll probably strip it back down to bare metal then hammer and dolly it smooth it out with a thin coat of body filler in the areas that need it and shoot a couple of coats of epoxy primer/sealer then stick it back on the shelf.

I'm thoroughly disgusted. Went to bolt on my front valance/gravel pan today. I paid the body shop to straighten it and paint it. When I went to bolt it on the car I proceeded to snug the two bolts up that connect the valance to the right fender. I heard a slight pop and I stopped. I proceeded to look to see if something was wrong and when I looked at the top right corner where it connects to the fender there was a crack. As I further inspected the crack I found that the body shop filled it with approximately an 1/8th of an inch thick coat of body filler. Instead of properly straightening it they packed it full of body filler. If it had been done properly there would have been a lite coat no more the thickness of a credit card instead of an 1/8th inch thick. The valance had no rust in it whatsoever and just needed some tweeking and some very lite body work to fill any imperfections. So now I'm going to have to go buy a new valance which is 300 bucks because I'm not chancing someone's shoddy work again along with paint ( base-clear ) have the paint scanned and matched then have it painted..That along with having to fix the 600 dollar dash bezel that's flaking black paint off at the bottom. It's getting disappointing and disgusting at the amount of money people charge for their "professional services" along with these restoration parts dealers and their expensive pricing then having to go back and spend additional money to correct their mistakes.

good reason to do it urself !

Put on a brand new Holley fuel pump and it wouldn't work. It ran but wouldn't pump any fuel. Called Summit and they got a new one to me and I just finished putting it on.

When I installed my new fuel system I purchased a new Holley electric fuel pump. It ran but wouldn't pump any fuel. Called Summit and they sent me a new one. I just got finished installing it. Hopefully this one will be ok.

She's fired up and running. Had some trouble sealing up the rear main seal. Pulled the pan along with the main seal bridge and #5 main cap. Took .006 off of the end of the bridge and installed a new main seal and side seals from Dan Dvorak. She's sealed up now, no leaks. Still trying to figure out why my electric fuel pump is not pumping fuel to the carburetor. She sounds good. Oil pressure is good. New Cold Case radiator cools great. Have all the factory gauges working along with the new Autometer ones. All the lights turn signals side marker etc working so new wiring harnesses went in with no trouble.

Installed my mufflers today. Of all the mufflers I've ever ran Borla has the best sound. They're constructed very well of stainless steel and built to last. They're a bit pricey but worth every dime.

Not sure if you had any work done to the radio, but if it is original inside I believe the speaker should be 8 ohm not 4 ohm. Maybe cause you some output transistor problems down the road.
It's a factory replacement that Retro sells that's been updated with better materials for the speaker. The radio is a factory AM/FM unit. I don't know much about the internal workings of a radio. It plays pretty well. The radio is out of a 73 Duster but believe it's the same as what come in 71s..
