massive reconfiguration time again.

I'm starting to squeeze to gather the beginnings of a budget for my winter project. I would like to get my bucket seats reupholstered and no surprise I would like to start piecing together some aluminum heads. I also would like to find a way to run pump gas.

being able to pull up at a local station, anywhere you are, and fill 'er up will be a convenience you'll really enjoy

that will be easy for you because you already have the "major players" on/in your car
The heads are the weak Link (besides me!).
Pump gas car that can be driven 65-70 mph for an hour and enter and qualify for super pro, race and drive home...

what rpm do you turn at 60 mph with the 3.54's ??

Well I'm finally getting around to getting the bucket seats I got at the Swap Meet last April reupholstered.. One of my very good friends has a guy he works with that does upholstery work. I talked to him yesterday and he's ordering material. I'll drop them off Thursday or Friday..

I bought them as cores with tracks.. I gave them a good scrubbing and use them through this last summer..
I'll have them done in black vinyl with insert where the red white and blue is now..
The new insert...

Well I pulled the seats and drop them off at the guy's house is doing the upholstery work.. he has a little shop around the back of his house for doing upholstery and a pool table set-up. we talked for a little bit getting to know each other and shot a few games of pool.. he's charging me a very reasonable $200 for labor plus he said around $150 for material.. he said normally it would be just about a week but it's Christmas so it will probably be a couple..

I have a really good upholstery guy too but he is so busy its hard to get him to do anything. I honestly think I am going to try and reupholster my seats myself. I'll try it with cheap vinyl so I'm not out much if it looks like crap!

The guy that's doing mine says it's going to take six yards to do the two buckets and he puts a thin layer of sponge behind it whatever it's called.. also he was adamant if I was looking for my own material to get Automotive grade..

I have done some work with the marine vinyl. It worked good. I likely won't get at it this winter anyway. But a guy always needs 5 or 6 projects stacked up incase right!

Looks nice. Personally I like the bright colored one better but not my car.

Are you saving the colored inserts?
yes I asked him to save the colored inserts because they are specific to a Spirit of 76 car.. the cushion part where you sit on isn't all that great but definitely the material on the back is in pretty good nick.. now all I have to do is find somebody needing some material for their Spirit of 76 car and I would be glad to send it to them...

Can you do me a favor? If I know the material and weight, have a good closeup photo of the pattern of the colors and width. I can get a weaver in Guatemala to make up a good size roll for future use.

That seat looks great!

I know right? The picture that he sent me today has got I'm pretty excited...
it should go well with the beaver skin headliner that I made. Nobody notices it until I pointed out...
