Well this being about the whole car total, but I feel I should keep the nitrous and new carbs threads updated till finished...

seats look nice
I feel very fortunate to have a good friend or my best friend who has a co-worker who does this for a little extra on the side and enjoys it as well. I couldn't have expected anything better from a professional shop at twice the price. Again I feel very fortunate...

I will admit one thing, your Duster has better seats than any a body I have ever owned.
Back when I was dating my wife, I had a 74 318 Duster and a 71 Demon with a 360. One night I picked her up in the Demon, it only had 1 seat, a fiberglass bucket. She had to sit on the floor, but it did have new carpet...

I don't think she would do it now, 27 years later... she would drive and put me on the floorboard.

My latest project..
I've always planned on building a new hood out of the feather duster hood skin that I have..
I have this idea/blueprint I believe ddaddy Photoshopped...
The first thing I'm going to have to do is take the inner ribbing from my all steel hood out. Witch is going to be much more involved than the feather hood as it just popped apart...
This hood..

This inner ribbing.. (aluminum feather duster)..

Something like this...

Even though I had you on ignore a couple times you are back on... and yes that is my Photoshop. Juz sayin' :)

Hoping to start the hood project Sunday or Monday but also I went off the deep end this evening and made a huge Summit order...
I had a fiasco around Christmas time with Jegs and a pair of their ceramic coated headers, it looked like they got drug here behind the UPS track from Ohio...
So I'm getting a cheap set of summit ceramic coated headers.. I'm hoping they do a decent job of packing them so I don't have to send these back as well...
I ordered a few other non-essentials as well just for I guess aesthetics...

Got some time for my own stuff..
I took the steel ribs off the old hood and riveted the aluminum inner on..
Also used a marker to mark where the nitrous purge will come out...
Taking the steel hood apart was much more involved as they were spot welded as apposed to the original feather duster hood that was more pinched together...
Again the original feather duster outer hood skin was trash...
I did give a light sanding and cleaning and a simple spray paint since I had it apart..

That's all well and good, BUT have you pushed the dang button YET ! lol :D

I like the work on the hood
are you contemplating a clear scoop in the future.

Got my new headers today..
Around Christmas time I had the Jegs Fiasco... I got their cheap ceramic coated headers on sale and they looked like they got dragged here from Ohio! They were beat up bad.. also there was another member who had a pair and they were quite different from what I got. Jegs would not even look at another set for me until they got theirs back and it took a week for them to send me a return label and two more weeks at least for me to get my money back....
I finally got back to work and had a couple extra bucks so I figured I'd try again with Summit. First thing I did was pulled that driver side out that was the problem with the other ones and it was perfect! Yay! Then I pulled the passenger side out and it was okay but still had some scarring from being rubbed...
On the good side the quality was much better. It had the cues that I was looking for.. namely the little dimples in the pipes to get the header bolts in the tight spots and being able to get your wrench in there, the raised area around the flanges to make sealing better which the Jegs ones also didn't have and The collector actually welded to the end of the pipe meaning another spot not to leak..
So I called Summit and let them know that the passenger side had scratches and they are sending another set and glad to do it... No charge...

I'm sure mine will rust out and have to be replaced eventually. I will cross that bridge when I get there lol

I got the second set on Wednesday and passenger side was marginally better but didn't have me over the moon.. the driver side in the second box was obviously so scratched up I didn't even take it out of its wrapper... No problem the first set had a perfect driver side.. I called them a second time on these headers and said it looks like I'll just have to make some kind of compromise I don't think you can keep sending me headers until something nice she actually showed up. I said how about a discount? they said we could knock them down to 300 and give you back $56... I said okay I'm just got a notice a little while ago that I'm going to receive that... But I also wanted to make sure that this didn't invalidate my one-year warranty because that second passenger side header had what looked like welding splatter on the lower part and I was afraid it might have rust quickly... Time will tell..
