massive reconfiguration time again.

You were the first one to response as always with no help. And if this was, you could have explained how this was going to help... ...
Ok, then I should have said take a hammer to the Demons... Your title of "hammer" suggested you were fed up. My simple suggestion of no hammer meant "no need to be frustrated, you have eddies that ran great". So use them. Thought it was very much on topic as your title suggested.

no you should have drawn from your vast experience and give me some avenues to try and if you didn't have any wish me good luck...

I did. I learned a long time ago if you have something working great, and you change to be pretty, and then beat your head against the wall for 3 weeks trying to get it to work, just go back to being great. I know, the money. About 25 years ago I paid 375 for a 3500 GER converter. Worst performance investment in my history. I sold it for 75 bucks and put my old converter back in and called it "300 dollar education". I could give several other examples too.

problem is, if you don't get the answer you are looking for, you bulk. That is why I find you almost 99% impossible to help. Still cheering for ya, but I'm "out" of suggestions :)

Sounds like you're telling me to quit. Not Keep going and cheering for me...

Man... !! Sometimes what you buy just isn't meant for your car. Maybe the carbs will be great for your car, maybe they won't. I hope they work because I know you want them. But it's ok if after a month of beating your head against the wall to say "Look, I'm going back to the Eddies and I have Demon's for sale". It's not losing, it just didn't work for your set up.

The month is just actually 5 or so 1/2 days. It's just I've been very busy with work and other things so it's hard to get to it and spend a lot of time. The days are still short as you know and the weather is iffy at best. I'm not one to give up so easily but I do get frustrated like everyone...

The difference is frustration doesn't make you quit. These carbs will work. I'm going to say this, and then show it to my wife, and then move my pillow out to the motorhome.

Carbs are like wives. You need to LEARN what they want to make them happy. Once you do that, it's BONZAI and all down hill from there (so I'm told).

Keep chipping away. You'll get there. Quitters never win.

How are you tracking your O2 sensor? By eyeball? Or does your gauge datalog?

Unless the data is being logged electronically, I question whether it may help with diagnosing such a transient event as a bog. Also, the sensor can 'lie' because if your mixture doesn't light off (too rich, or too lean) the sensor can read it as 'lean' either way (you probably already know this, though).

It may be that your solution will have to include a combination of timing and mix/pump changes. A big pumpshot will help cover the loss of signal when going WOT from low revs, but since the velocity is also going to drop also fuel isn't going to atomize as completely. YR has already described how your plugs show evidence of fuel droplets - maybe that's as much of an incomplete mixing situation as it is a lots-of-fuel situation? If so, it seems to me that more ignition advance in the 1200-1800 rpm range might help? I know you've mentioned run-on when you turn it off, so bumping the initial may not be in the cards, but getting it to come in faster might?

Just a couple random thoughts...

Okay first thing I did when I started today I took the choke are doors completely off. They were just locked wide-open anyways and the little arm that reaches over to activate it covers one of the step-down spring covers and I have to take the little clip and arm on and off every time anyways. I threw the heaviest Springs in there and hook up a new wideband O2 sensor. It seems to be running a little bit leaner with the new O2 sensor. I moved the pump shot arms back to the middle..
with that done I observe something on the pressure of the gas that I hadn't seen before because the air doors were in the way. A big crap load of gas is crawling up out of the carburetor on the front wall in the primaries where the pump squared is??.. I'm wondering if I can go back to the 31 squirters and see what happens. In my mind that's where I want to go next. Also going to the Green Springs from Factory. This will put it back at a factory setting and maybe start the process over again...
Also this is being done with the air filters off so that could be having something to do with disturbing the airflow I'm not sure...

After getting my bucket seats redone I dropped off the back seat and said take your time... Just got a picture of the bottom cushion done...

Said another week or two for the back...

Those look Sharp. Your buddy does nice work. Better be careful, you don't want to " pretty up" the scrapper too much.
I almost never put them in because nobody sits back there LOL I had to pull them out of the rafters to give them to him..

I'd throw them in. They're way too nice to put back up in the rafters!! Besides, they'll complete the interior and you'll have a place to seat all the hot babes that will want to go for a ride when your at the car shows...lol.

This line of thinking probably won't impress my wife...lol...

I got a text message that my back seats are done..View attachment 1715496504
And also to remember my front seats...

...
OK going for a social distance pick up for my back seats today. Told him I'd call from outside and leave the money in the tailgate so he could throw the seats in...
I'll bring Clorox wipes and wipe them down and sterilize them LOL...
This is all so ridiculous but I can't take any chances...
