Mufflers like Dynomax

-
yea super turbos droned a lot on my cars too..

i have AP Exhaust Xlerator mufflers on it now and it drones real bad until about 52mph then its quiet.. i so need to find a set of mufflers that are quiet. 18" case and 24" length overall is what will fit my tti exhaust.
You could add a pair of bullet glasspacks as resonators.
For a more elegant solution, Google helmholtz resonators for exhaust.

yea i've seen those before.. i don't want to cut up the exhause and thry to fit them things under there.. my tti exhaust tucke up undert he car great now. i'll fins a muffler for it thats quieter and doesn't drone sooner or later.

very promising! i like it.

i might not be nearly as crisp, lacking the cubes and compression. but i'll make up for it in volume by dumping it at the axle.

That’s how I feel. I may try some sound deadening mat but I’m not expecting any miracles.

How’s the volume in the car?
It's good, no drone at all. I do also have plenty of sound deadner, and I also coated the bottom side of the car with Lizard Skin before I painted it.
But I also ran the same exhaust setup before I did all that and it was still no problem.

Stainless steel Dynomax Ultra Flows are a bit louder than the Super Turbos but they do sound good and will last longer due to better materials and construction. Here's what they sound like with a full 3" system.

That sounds really nice.

My buddy has dynomax on his 340 duster, 3" I believe. He can't remember which ones specifically but he did win best sound in show before. I think mine has the super turbos on it, honestly I forget it's been so long.

This is my sons car I've been working on too along with my car but its a 360 must have a cheater cam couldn't find any markings, but 2.5" exhaust to the back with summit brand turbos and no cross over pipe. No drone like a flow master on the inside of the car.

I just recently put a new 2.5" system on mine and went with the new Wicked Flow Max mufflers, everyone says it sounds awesome, no drone, and not overly loud and in your face. I love the sound.

any idea on the dimensions of those mufflers? never heard of those. who sells them?
Nor sure of the outer dimensions on the Max mufflers, but you could check on their website Wicked Flow . I got them installed by Competition Muffler in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, I was told that they just started carrying them, and that I was the first person in my province(maybe even Canada) to have them installed. Honestly, I dont even know if they are a Canadian or US company.
Sorry I couldnt be of more help

Did you install yours? These dynomax’s gotta go
yeah. sound is very mellow, deep and somewhat throaty. not tinny at all.

even though i'm dumped at the axle it's not all that loud. i expect that'll change once the packing material gets compacted/blowed out. overall i'm happy with them, good value for money. best of all they don't sound like dynomax's!

I’d be willing to replace them every few years if they saved my hearing. Did you get the MF 1226? They seem pretty close in dimensions to the dynomax….

yup that's the one.

i filtered thru summit until i found options that were within the parameters and that's what seemed like the best value for money.
