Well the engine is in!! I have to mount the transmission on the crossmember and torque everything down but its in. Man I was a nervous wreck putting that thing in. I scratched the paint in a couple places but nothing too bad. The truck lost all brakes in the the middle of it and I was having to use the clutch and ebrake it was a crazy mess but it worked. Lol out of all the days to pop a brake line it had to be today!! Im taking a break for now im gonna eat and enjoy some Fabo then going back out to install the hood to keep the dew off of it.

Looks good, I'm betting that you are very relieved to have that part done, a couple scratches are minor given what you had to deal with just getting it in.

Thanks guys I appreciate it! It means a lot to have yall routing for me!!
I got the hood on and got it lined up. I got lucky and the radiator even fits i was worried it wasn't going to. Its tight but the good closes. Here is some pics my wife took with the security system lol thats some sketchy crap lmao!

Dang buddy good work, get yourself some sleep.
Yea I got another busy day tomorrow. Tomorrow im gonna torque everything down work on the exhaust manifolds, down pipe, get the new pipe welded to the existing tailpipes, radiator buttoned in engine accessories on. Maybe even put the fenders on. I gotta go ahead and raise the torsion bar adjustments up now that there is weight on the car, even on ramps im having a horrible time getting under it lol

Great job. I guess I'm just used to it but have always stabbed engine and trans together from the top.

I don't look at how you did it as sketchy......I see it as thinking outside the box! The only thing that kind of worried me was the cables on your tailgate being strong enough. I see you took the tailgate off after you got it off the porch, so you alleviated that worry! :)

Getting some more work done today. Transmission mounts are in, steering column, manifolds, fuel pump, went ahead and raised the torsion bars to give me some more room underneath. Got the radiator in getting ready to test fit the fan it looks like its gonna be tight I may have clearance issues

Well here is where I finished for the day I ran into some trouble with my kickdown I have 3 different ones and none of them fit. Also had some issue with my alternator alignment im missing the rear tube shim im gonna have to make or find one. And i had to shim the alt bracket slightly with a washer to get the belt alignment right got some more work to do tomorrow Hopefully I can get the carb on tomorrow and exhaust pics coming soon

Ok got the radiator bolted in, wiring more straightened out, all the rubber hoses on went ahead and put oil and antifreeze in it. Got an oil leak already lol. Looks like the back of the valve cover on the drivers side. I pulled the valve cover back of checked the gaskets and retorqued it I will make sure to keep an eye on that. I'm having the awfulliest time with the stupid shifter linkage on my Hurst shifter. Which makes no sence because iv used it before and on this car without any problems. I don't get it. It won't adjust back far enough to put it in park but it's all the way back in the adjuster. And it won't go on the top of the lever which its supposed to without interfering with the kickdown lever. I have adjusted it every way I know and it just won't work I worked on it for hours got pissed gave up and came in went back out and worked hours again still never got it. I did manage to get my transmission cooler lines ran and somewhat hooked up. I'm getting closer!

Making good progress, looks great! Did you find a spacer for the alternator bolt yet? I might have one around if you can't find it.
No not yet i just slightly tightened it down i have the longer one in the middle the shorter one that goes closest to the head is missing i thought I could make it work without it but nope lol

Sorry I can't be any help with the shifter, never used one myself, mine has a B&M installed by a po.
Yea I don't get it at all i thought maybe I didn't have the correct lever so I looked it up to buy the correct one and I have the right one. I don't understand why it's not lining up. There is an obvious angle behind the bracket and lever that is not supposed to be there I have tried shiming it nothing has helped I downloaded the instructions and followed them to a T still not lining up. I'm wondering if somehow through the years and moves the bracket got bent. I don't see any obvious bends or anything. I'm gonna try it again tomorrow. I gotta finish up the trans lines too. I think that and the fuel lines and im done under the hood. I still have to hook up the wiring in the cluster and im ready for break in!

If you have a Tractor Supply anywhere close by, go look thru their bolt aisle. I remember seeing thick walled spacer tubing there, so maybe you can find something you can cut to length. :)

I can measure the length of the spacers on my Duster if you need the measurements.

I work at a hydraulic tube shop I can send you a stainless steel spacer for that. Prob be a 3/4 tube. Lemme know.

post 83. don't know if this helps, you didn't post any pics of how it all lines up, but on mine i modified the KD lever to get it in a different plane of movement. ended up cutting the arm off the lever and welding back on the top side of the bracket
