My sack of lemons....

Was not first engine start, more like 4th, and since I changed to 80lb injectors the tune was off a mile. Had to reset the injectors values and now working on VE table to getting mixture right. SO far idle needed about a 20 point reduction in its cells to get the idle where it is. Whatever the hell that means.

80lb? Are you going to run E85?

Probably remodel a bathroom, then therapy.....my 7 yr old is putting pressure on me, which is a good thing, to keep cracking and get it back on the road. We have an antique car show and parade every year in the middle of June and he doesn't want to miss another one.

NO, it is over injectored for sure. I got these new for $200 and was thinking they would have me covered and then some, might have to plumb a direct port 300 shot to justify them lol! Knowing what I know now I would've gotten 60lb versions of the same injectors. Oh well ive gotten these to idle fine for now and will probably keep my eyes peeled for some 60 lb'ers in the future. These are good for probably 900hp N/A and im no where near that.

Great job on the engine compartment, it really cleaned up well. I guess I'm going to have to take a look at my 6.4 and see if I have a similar port. Did you pressure prime the engine or roll it over cold to get oil pressure and then fire it? Do you really think you need the cross strut member? I would think it was stiff enough as it is.

Thanks, I had the engine upside down before I put the pan on and filled the pickup tube with oil, then installed pan and rotated it back upright and immediately filled it with a gallon of oil. When I put it in the car I just cranked it over with gauge hooked up and that is when I discovered the unplugged sender port. After that was plugged it cranked for maybe 4 seconds and the gauge hit 60 lbs. I am confident that was satisfactory. Also with the Melling 10342 Select pump, this thing so far has been reading 60 lbs from start up to shut down no matter what rpm or temp up to 207 degrees. I couldn't be happier after all the hurdles, this thing is ready to break hearts, just need more hours in the day....

As far as the bungs in the downtubes, its better to have a gun and not need it, than need one and not have it. I have 1.18" torsion bars going in which have a 370lb rate, time will tell and fatigue is a reality. Plus they were cheap and not hard to put in BEFORE paint lol!

Ended up needing to shorten my aftermarket column. I bought a 30" thinking I needed the shaft length of that and was worried the 28" would be to short. Long story short, a 28" would've been a dead ringer in all cases. I got this one as a blem for cheap or I would've just swapped it for a 28". This was about a 3-4 hour little project that I wouldn't enlist on my worst enemy lol....

Man, that sounds awesome! Smart doing it the way you are, worst case would be all put together and a no start. I'm glad you're doing this, you're like my road map for completing my 6.4.
I noticed that your engine location allows you to keep your brakes, etc., in the stock location. I couldn't do that with the Magnum Force suspension, I was forced to move the pedal location 3 inches to the left.

Does he do something genius like mount the engine centered? or have it that high up? Either of those will cause a chain reaction of a bunch of other things being out of line, driveshaft tunnel is offset, and if its that high the driveshaft angle will be a vibration extravaganza. Hopefully you need to offset the master to clear a hydro boost or something.

Yeah, the engine is up because of the tubular suspension design. There wasn't any good way to drop the engine. The engine was set with the driveshaft angle at 3 degrees , but that made for a goodly sized tunnel, it's offset about an inch. Here are some pictures of the mods. Last picture is the wiper mount, it looks a lot like yours.

Looks good Ron, if you go at it planning on MAKING it work together, its no big deal. I bet if your column is in stock location, AND the engine is offset to the driverside 1", raising the engine also helps clear the steering shaft. They are tight fits even leaving everything lined up with the stock tunnel.

Thanks, the hardest part is going to be finding someone to reprogram the ECU for auto shifting the 545 and rewiring the harness for the pin outs from the shifter to the ECU. I'm hoping Hot Wire Auto will help.
What you may not be able to see is the floor pan was dropped 2/ 1/2 inches to accommodate the power bucket seats (the Dart is going to be a X country cruiser). I'll get some underside pictures one of these days to post. You guessed correctly, I'm using a hydraboost, I've got one in my coupe and I like the way it stops. My hope is when it's done the Dart will look stock to the uninformed.

Retroron- How far out from the firewall is the hydroboost accumulator? I want to do that but I have a clutch master similar to 72BBswinger, and it looks like they might want to occupy the same space. IIRC the clutch master is 4" long.

The Hydraboost bolts up to the firewall and the master cylinder bolts to the hydraboost in series. I don't have the boost in front of me, but I'd say it adds 6-8 inches to the overall length. Look at the picture posted above, you can see the fit up.
Ron

I need to make some kind of video of an incar run to help people on the fence about these engines have a better picture of how they act. Car is just stupid fun now, forgot all about the BB it used to have.

Changed mufflers, goodbye Dronemasters....
