** NEW ** Trick Flow LA cylinder heads introduced at SEMA

-
Same boat as you. But gonna wait to put this topend on my 418 shortblock that is together already
If the Trick stuff keeps getting delayed i will snatch the eddies off my 360 and make do with them for the time being

Hate to say it but if you look at the timeline of the bigblock stuff-I predict it will be next September before they are truly available. TF is free to send me a set for some pre -release independent testing of course. J.Rob

My local engine builder has a small block build going on with pro max heads on a 4 inch 360, it should be on the dyno early next year. The pro max heads are on the shelf at the shop waiting so I’m going to ask them to put them on the flow bench to see how they do. I believe they claim to flow around 285...
The price for the pro max heads is also tempting as I can get a set in the low $2000 price range Canadian.... I would guess that the trick flows with be closer to $3000.

Trick flows will be around 2000. Pricing wil be like it is for the trick flow big block heads.
No brainer. I would wait and buy a better casting made here in US

Here are a couple videos I found on youtube. These were taken at the 2018 Sema show. Note the combustion chamber size. ((( 60cc )))

The intake won’t be out until next summer...so that means a year from now. I will get some flow numbers from the pro max heads soon and see if I go in that direction or mothball the project for now.

Share the info if you do. I've been eyeing them as well. Partially because I want 65cc chambers for the compression I have planned out.

Has anyone used the Toth Performance CPPA heads or the Marsh Performance heads ported by Larry Smith? Those may be great options instead of waiting.

Had a quick look at the Shocker CNC pro max heads today... they look nice but I didn’t have time to have a really good look at them.

The website doesn't really give much info on those. You had a quick look as in you ordered them? If yes, where did you order those from? Any flow numbers, valve sizes, etc?

My local machine shop ordered them from pro max, they are supposed to be going on a 360 with a 4 inch crank.
The engine is getting built by a good friend of mine, next time I stop in I will see if they can flow them.

If you were closer I would flow and speed check them for free. I liked what a saw from the non cnc'd ones. They made Edelbrock heads look like imported JUNK.

Nice head for the price!

I might order a set of pro max heads bare and send them to a local porter and see what he can do with them vs the CNC shockers.

worth the wait if they are what is reported.
I would rather a company delay a launch to make things right than release an inferior
product. That is why everyone was so excited about these heads ! They have a great reputation !

There making it so you only have to buy one head and it will fit on a MAG or a LA block.

For the pair CNC ported?
Something tells me that's in addition to the actual heads purchase price, which assembled are about $1400+/- I doubt anyone will do that level of porting for $300

You can get the CNC ported shockers in Canada for around $2200 assembled with is around $1650 US dollars
