They are predicting at least 12-18" for this part of PA with 20-30 mph winds and gusts to 55 mph. We stocked up on food and supplies and have 60 lbs of salt on hand if needed.

Yeah, it's just another snowstorm...but even so, I believe in being prepared for it to get bad and lose power for 48+ hrs.

Like my Dad always said "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst and you will never be sorry".

Anyone else making preparations for the Nor'easter?

The stuff if pretty to look at till you have to go out and work in it. Glad it is southeast of us. I like a nearly snow free winter. It can snow all it wants years from now when I retire.

We've been to the store, stocked up, and got some kerosene, but nobody will come off a snowblower for the weekend. lol

I put the plow on the John Deere after the last mowing about Nov. 1st, I should start it & let it run for a while, just in case.

That reminds me, I need to call my plow guy to make sure I'm still a customer. Should be, but you never know about those guys.

We just had that storm go through here and although it made the drive home last night suck we only would up with a couple of inches.

They are saying it is going to go south of us. Which doesn't break my heart one little bit after last winter. Good luck down there in the mid-atlantic though.

What part of the suburbs are you in Ddaddy? Just fired up the snow blower today for a test run.

I'm in Delaware County just SW of Philly. I work in the Navy Yard Corporate Center by the Stadiums. I live about 5 miles from I-95 in Aston.

I just bought a new house on the other side of Aston closer to Glen Mills and plan to move in about 2 weeks before putting the current place up for sale. Now I have 2 houses to shovel out once this is over...yippee.

I went out last night when I got home and put the blower on the tractor. It was extremely cold with wind but everything went together well. Started the tractor and pulled it out front in the driveway. I always hook up a battery tender while it sits out front so battery should start with no issues. They are calling for anything from 6" to 18" depending on who you listen to. Guess we sit back and wait now.

I'm always ready. That has a lot to do with I don't live in that region, so bring it on!!!

Got the tractor pretty much ready just have to drop the mower deck off and put some kero in the diesel, made room for the cars in the garage, gas for the generator and two cases of beer, you can never be over prepared! Oh yeah a new can of coffee for the morning after!!!!

for once, being this far north is a good thing weather wise.. local forecast shows it staying south of here... feel for you all though - grr & brr

Finally bought myself a snowblower. Last year I shoveled enough to last a life time. No more! All gassed up and ready.

Not looking forward to being holed up in my house for two days with my wife and kids though... maybe after I'm done with the driveway I'll get loaded.

Well u boys just make some big ole pots of Chili and other hearty stews and relax inside.

I know many in DC will probally go insane with all that snow and possibly freeze to death when they try to drive in it. Just be safe.

Got tired of the winter weather, in Pa. - Now spend the winters in Florida. A little chilly here lately.. -- Stay safe up north. - Tuck in for a few days.

I live right in the bullseye. They are predicting 24 to 30" by Sunday morning. Snow blowers ready. Both sons are ready. Bourbon is ready. Generator is ready. We will be fine.

it's just snow ! I love it. but the rain is washing all our snow away and my partime winter income. I might have to work this summer. lol

Hope you didnt leave the Valiant there..... :):burnout::burnout:

I fired up the generator and the snow blower, and stocked up on Ethanol free gas. Also went to the grocery store.

if I had the $$$ I would rent a tractor trailer and deliver snow shovels, sock hats, gloves, generators ,candles, beer, bread, and bottled water and sell it off the curb!???? it would pay for many car parts!?? ha

YOUR storm passed thru here last couple days. first wave, the weather guy said, not enough moisture for much. then I44 was closed both ways in numerous places with wrecks w ith that 1/10 in of black ice!

the the second w ave was just ice and 4 in of snow. just enough for fun! but cold.

bUT, NEXT week, he says 60 degress! here. ha

i feel for D.C. politicians..... where the average i q is is rated in tenths, not full numbers. what will they DO with 30 inches of snow!???? DECLARE it a nat. holiday and take the week off, with pay!??? ha

Going to be 73* here in SO-CAL today...... Also a nice 51* this morning...... Going to go out and Service the old pick up today..... ;)

they crack me up!!!! watching the "today" show while ago. the 4- 5 "stars" are outside, each with a different co. snow shovel, explaining exactly which ones are best and HOW to use it. also lesson on spreading salt on your sidewalk, driveway.

I HOPE all that was aimed at some dumb-*** Southerner (o k so i'm one) ( Southerner, that is, O K so i see snow!) that has never seen snow, BUT since the bad stuff will hit New Englander, I figure it was aimed at dumb-*** New Englanders!!!???? ha!! if I were them, I would have been embarrassed with such !

I understand any place that will get 1/2 inch of ice and /or 2 foot of snow will have its share of problems! but really.
