I have finally got my 3.6 V6 installed into my Valiant with an American Powertrain Tremec 5 speed! Hopefully in a few months it will be running and driving!

Wife's durango has the V6 with the manifolds built into the head. Very odd design.

Honda/Acura has been doing it for years. I assume it is for quick cat heat up and low startup emmissions.

How about posting some "in progress" pics and some of the problems (or not) you ran into?

I don't even know that that "is." Only V6's I'm familiar with are the old "sawed off Magnum" design

Ok so no disrespect here but a v6 ?

The intrepid with the 3.3 moved it really well. That car would run 100 mph all day long. Was 330,000 km’ when i let it go,and engine was still strong. I had thought about saving it for a transplant.

My bad, I was thinking about that GM contraption.

I think it's a lot more interesting then a typical v8 swap plus I've heard really good things from these modern V6s.
Ok I get it they do push 300 hp outa a 6 nowadays nice package

I went on a vacation to Florida and got back last Saturday. It's a 16 hour drive one way from OKC. We have the 3.6 V6 AKA pentastar in our durango. We had 6 grown adults plus all of our luggage and crap loading the car down. We averaged 25.2 MPG the whole trip including driving around in Florida all week. And I held 75 MPH most of the way, so I wasn't trying to baby it. That's pretty decent fuel economy from a boring V6 that makes 295 HP.

About 8 months ago I totaled my Camry and the rental car I got was a Dodge Charger with your engine size. I was impressed with the performance. I think you will be pleased. Keep us informed.

My 2014 ram has that engine , I`m well pleased w/ it, good power, great fuel economy. I would bet it would hang w/ a stock 5.7 hemi in the first 2 gears > 8 speed.

Here are some other pics. The engine was moved forward about an inch and 1/2 to provide firewall clearance and the k-frame was notched, a Chrysler mini van oil pan was used and a custom trans mount was made. I will post more pics when I put it up on the rack.

Interesting. I'm curious as to how you'll address the exhaust.

Shannon & I have been talking about our 3.6l swaps for a couple years now. I laid a lot of the ground work out in my build thread for oil pan, A/C delete, ect.

We'll both be doing exhaust soon. His engine seems to be a good 1.5" or so further to the Left than mine. So on his passenger side, I told him he could get this LX "manifold" off me. It hit my inner fender but should easily clear his

But on the Left side, its going to be a TIGHT squeeze around the Steering coupler. I recently got a Manual Steering box to help out with clearance and his Borgenson and lost 1" it be really tight.

Here was my concept model for a tight "manifold" to skirt around the steering.
two 1-3/4" tight radius elbow into a 2 to 1 collector.

I really like to see what his exhaust guy comes up with. I may have him build me a set too.

What am I looking at here? Is part of the manifold "part of the head?"

all in all that looks pretty involved. I guess I thought V6= shorter smaller easier LOL

I'd like to hear what that sounds like without pipes if you were ever inclined to do so. Also do you know what the cylinder bank angle is?
