Ok, kicked it in gear this morning. Gotta get the ball rolling!! Made time to make some measurements and made an order from Dr. Diff. 2 new axles with green bearings and 3" studs. Order is in and paid !!! Now, back to my regular overwhelmingly busy schedule!
P.S. - when I get my order, there will be a rear end swap, chances of a new video will be higher than this Illinois pollen !!!!

May is a tough month for me to get things done. May host our Anniversary, Mother's Day, my daughter's B-day, Memorial Day, and a killer month for my allergies!!!! Throw in the 50+ hrs work takes from me, and my pizza time, it gets a little hectic !! LOL But I'll get the rear end changed in the next 7 days, it's a goal.
4.30's are in ..... haven't driven it yet.
Raining most of the week. Today, I added the gear lube, bolted the tires on, and it's back on the ground...... still no drive, no time. See what the weather holds tomorrow or Saturday...

Not at first... Not included in any video but I did a specific burnout and I actually got the black marks to skip - verifying bad wheel hop.
We've had success in calming DT's rear end, and I'm excited by results. I'm working on a break down video, give me a few days.
Got some front tires on DT today. We are pretty much ready to go to the strip and let it make it's first pass. Truck should be ready. It's about scheduling now. We put work into it off and on over the last several months to get it to this point. The 318 will get first honors... LOL

Old pushrod holes plugged, and new ones put in at an angle with an end mill in the seat guide machine.
Just a start, but getting there...

Hey! Your welcome and anytime! Let us know what that final offset number comes to. Heck of a job doing that work. What steps did you do to plug the pushrod hole?
When I seen Steve Dulcich do that to his Edelbrock heads, I thought about it. Then @pittsburghracer comes up with more pictures, (Thanks Pittsburgh) now I’m about willing to try it myself. Once I get reset up, now think I’m going to try that and make my own flow bench.

To plug the holes, I reamed them to 9/16" and got 2 sticks of this: 9/16"(.5625") x 14"+ 6061 T651 Aluminum Round Bar Cold Drawn Cold Rolled Rod | eBay
2 sticks will do the job.
I cut 3" long pieces and then I mixed up some jb weld and slobbered it on the sticks, and a little in the holes and tapped them in. I let them set overnight.
I used the measurements you gave me from the w5s to lay out the holes. I marked the centers with a punch, and then set up the head on the seat /guide machine at the angle I wanted. My math came out to just under a 6 degree angle. I used a pointed champher bit to center the table on my punch marks. Then switched to an end mill to make the holes. You have to feed it really slowly at first. A bridgeport mill would be the best way to do this, but I don't own one.
I started this because I picked up a set of W2 rockers cheap. They ought to be good enough for an ugly Yeller truck.
Working on getting a little weight off the front end. I thought a good place to start would be to take some off of these procomp heads. Grinding , grinding out in the hot sun. There is still a lot to do, just getting them roughed in for now. I am hoping to finish them up next week. Here is a pic. I took before supper.
Got my Ducks in a row...... Our hope is to take a slice off the 10.08 1/8 that the 318 ran..... real soon !

Have you heard from " Jabs" lately? Haven't seen many posts from him... last I remember, he wasn't feeling all that great. @Jadaharabi
Talked to him a little over a week ago on the phone, he seemed to be doing ok then.
