Couldn’t be happier as the low dollar 318 project of 2016 gave its finale. We were hoping for 8.9 in the 1/8, and were really hoping so bad for anything in the 13’s. Completely unprepped, we went on a whim and here are the results.

8.87 in the 1/8, 13.97 in the 1/4. And, we took home the hardware!!!

Congrats! THose are good numbers.

Unprepped meaning we didn't get the drag radials on, spark plugs haven't been changed (maybe since 2016??? can't remember.. lol) and we really wanted a sure grip but we had our 3.55 open (Thanks Mopar Sam!).

oh, in the finals I cut a .014 light (I guess good enough for the win... lol) foot braking of course, and went 14.03 on a 14.00 dial, sandbaggng .03. Competition went 10.81 on a 10.79 dial but had a worse tree.

I said 13.6@100 with traction and 4.10s
what was the 60 ft and trap mph

2.00 60 ft (I really thought it would be 1.9's) and 96 mph (which I thought/guessed would be 98 mph)

Great work :) What was the before again ?
14.9's with 2.76 gears, stock exhaust manifolds, and stock converter. We added headers, 3.55's, and about 2800 stahl. Also, though, we added weight with the 8.75 rear end, 15" steel wheels, and a new bigger drive shaft.

Pretty good out of a warmed over 318, that pretty much anyone could copy.

It also was a great day for action. they had 28x10.5 small tire race (most of them were mid to low 5's, I think some were in the 4's) and they ran 1/8. Also, the Ozark Super Shifters were there, and they are a fun group to watch, along with "Beat the Heat" Sherriff's run (I believe their championship). Also, all the box, no box and such races.

Yeah, the short block has never been apart. I believe it had like a 126, *** miles on it when I pulled it from my '76 Duster. Still has the smog 318 heads. Basically a summit cam and 4bbl to be honest.

Th OMSS group is a fun addition to any track. A friend and customer of mine was in the group until he passed away a few years ago.

loose motors run hard

Oh, we didn't get the "Octoberfest" cool air. It was a much hotter day than usual for this time of year, it was 83* but on the asphalt I'm sure it was 90 or so. Very hot in the cars... lol. Our track is 600 ft altitude.
