Spare parts
I've got an older 727 lock up, and TC, my Duster has 4:10s. I'd love to do that Mod! So, there is no cutting of the tunnel, just the Lil frame hump?Since I had the exhaust on last night, I went ahead and drove it home which is about 12 miles country road and it went well. I did not hit the OD switch tell this morning on the way back to work and wow this is cool!! At 55 mph I flipped the switch a couple times just to see if it operates properly and it did. I had no tachometer yet because I forgot to hook up the ground but it was a big drop in RPM. Hoping not too much to where converter jumps in and out but if it does I can put another gear ratio in.
I still have one of those hoods, off of a '69 Swinger 340 that I had as a parts car, back in......1975! Safely stored in Santa Maria!
Dimpled very slightlyI've got an older 727 lock up, and TC, my Duster has 4:10s. I'd love to do that Mod! So, there is no cutting of the tunnel, just the Lil frame hump?
Sweet! If I can get my health back enough to get my **** together, I wouldn't mind having that transmission gone through, and the converter too with the 410 gears in my car I'm thinking I could benefit from a couple hundred RPM drop in 4thDimpled very slightly
You will love itSweet! If I can get my health back enough to get my **** together, I wouldn't mind having that transmission gone through, and the converter too with the 410 gears in my car I'm thinking I could benefit from a couple hundred RPM drop in 4th
Thank You Brother! That transmission's been sitting out my yard for a year at my other place. I'm hoping it ain't shot. You will love it
That would be a wise move!Sweet! If I can get my health back enough to get my **** together, I wouldn't mind having that transmission gone through, and the converter too with the 410 gears in my car I'm thinking I could benefit from a couple hundred RPM drop in 4th
Belive it or not, I can roll around 50 mph reasonably with the engine set up I haveThat would be a wise move!
Clearwater? Wow, you're gonna be right across the bridge!Andy/ Chris, whichever one of you keeps these updates going, Chris I think, I like the occasional check-ins on the cars life, lets us know Jr's still enjoying the highways.
I've been working on a project for a number of years & added O/D during the process. I'm looking forward to the 835 mile drive back home to Clearwater Fl. probably late next spring.
But overdrive would be so sweet. Never fear Interstate 75 again! That would be a wise move!
The torsion bar crossmember you have to cut and strap to get the O/D unit to clear however. I trimmed mine and left the flanges for the floor then bent steel and strapped the area I cut out. You can see this in the pic. Much easier to engineer this and weld it in when the floor is out of the car.Should be no cutting on the floor hump. I did end up dimpling mine though. I fit a 42RH during my floor replacement. Used a chevy truck trans mount. Heres how I did mine. I used a lot of ideas from junior 340 I moved the inboard bolt holes out, and left the outboard bolt holes intact.
