Project Cheap & Nasty Updated With Back Story

-
Kitty came up with a great color idea for the valve cover. She said gold would pop against the green. I believe she is right. Soon as I get the pushrods in and the valves adjusted, I'll stick the valve cover on. Whoever I bought it from said it was in much better shape than it was. It's pitted badly. Also, one of the bolt holes was split but I migged it up. After a couple of thick coats with filler primer, it looks ok. They may well may not have known, because old paint and dirt can hide a lot. I don't even remember who I got it from. Might not have been anyone here. I have a ribbed valve cover and that's what I wanted so it works.

You better have that ***** together & tuned for a special spot in the St. Patrick's Day Parade come March,.....
:p

Kitty was right, as usual. The gold looks good on the green. I got the lifters, pushrods and rocker assembly on. Will get the valves adjusted tomorrow and bolt the valve cover down.

Got the valves adjusted this mornin. If I had manifold gaskets, I'd slAng them on. That's gonna have to wait till payday. lol

You got this thing together even faster than you thought Rob.
Thanks to the good block, crank and rods you brought. I ain't real sure about the head. I don't think it's cracked, but it's got some valves rusted solid in it. I'll get it apart.....but I don't know what'll be left. LOL

mannnn where am i supposed to iron out my trench coat now?

looking good!
That is my mama's ironing board. I'd guess it's from the late 40s or real early 50s. It'll hold up an iron big block Chevy head. If she was still here, she'd be amazed I'm still usin it.

Rusty, as promised (but took a while sorry) here are measurements of the air to air I have that I’ll donate to your turbo deal if you’ll use it. Just pay shipping. It’s small, will support about 300hp, and will definitely help.

Yeah, that is kinda small. That might actually fit behind the grille with a little modification. Tell you what. I'll pay shippin on it and if for some reason I cannot make it work, I'll even ship it back. How bout that?

Sounds like a plan. Or if you can’t use it, and someone else on here calls dibs on it maybe you can send it to them.

Got Cheap & Nasty's intake all cleaned up and painted and the EGR block off plate on. I'm repainting the exhaust manifold back VHT flat aluminum too. I'll post pictures of that when it's done.

That'll work too. ....but it'll be whatever YOU want.

I got another exhaust block off plate made. I don't know what I did with my other one. Senility I guess, but I made another one. Probably all a 90s model Pontiac Grand Prix fender is good for. Also gettin the hardware cleaned and painted.
