putting a ford 5.0 in a 72 Dart

oh gentlemen, rest assured it is very much a real thing...

they're out there making new ones of these suckers. Hennessey makes one called the "mammoth" and it's something dumb like 1000hp or some such.
ive seen the Mercedes ones (mostly in movies of course) but i dont think ive see the dodge version

here's the hennessey one:

i've seen a mercedes one out in the wild and i've seen a few of the new gladiator conversions rolling around as well. super practical for LA streets and traffic. surprisingly the mercedes one didn't look all that big in person.

Is this not a site to ask questions? maybe I misunderstood what its all about.
You asked a dumb question. A coyote is a weird swap but not weird enough to be neat, just weird. There is no good reason or novelty in a coyote swapped a body.

It's not a dumb question, and it is weird enough to be neat, depending on who you are.

Be nice to the guy, please. He's new at this.

When I was scanning the video for what Jared used for headers, he and the guy working on the headers with him both said don't swap a Coyote in. They both agreed that if you want a Ford, do a Godzilla, Ford's version of the LS.

Jared also said he felt like the Coyote was faster than the G3 at the top end. And the 6.1 he bought ended up being a 7.0 stroker. That comment was towards the end of the video I posted, while he was out driving the car after putting the 6.1 (7.0) back in it.

I can’t offer any advice or help but I think it’s a great idea.

To hard all the haters had the same feeling about putting Chinese parts on there cars. -Speedmaster-

I've been by-passing this thread for a while, but chuckle everytime I see it, reminded of the time a customer at my business, while walking behind my Dart, asked how he could get his Fex body to sound like my Dart.
I told him he couldn't afford it, he asked why .
I said " cuz I'd have to put Mopar running gear in it " !
Chuckle.
Sorry .

Threads like this always make me think of Cuba.
We are NOT Cuba.
Those poor dudes are severely limited in terms of what they car do with their cars given the scarcity of parts. They are MacGuyvers in every sense of the word.
Here, we have a vast array of choices. We can even go bonkers and put a Cummins in a Duster like another FABO member is attempting to do.
Some people get their minds stuck on the Dare to be different mindset even if doing so costs 3 times what a traditional Mopar build would be while being much harder to do and maybe even ending up being harder to service while not being any faster than a stroked 340.
Feel free to go buck wild but know that it will probably be worth a LOT less if you ever want to sell it because different doesn't appeal to that many people.

So in my memory, we’ve got a guy doing a Cummins swap, another doing a jeep 4.0 swap, another did a 3.6 pentastar swap and I know of 2 that started SRT4 swaps but never finished them. So in light of all that, I think he should go ahead with the coyote swap!

To put a finer point on your comments though...
At the very least, those that you mentioned originated from some form of a Mopar, not a Ford or Chevy.

If a gen 2 Hemi fits the Abody the
Coyote will, if I remember correctly they are about the same size…
Not entirely true, the gen 3 is 27” wide, the coyote is 29” wide. Doesn’t sound like much of a difference until you realize that a small block is 24.5” wide. Essentially the coyote is the same width as a 426 Hemi, just not as cool.

his has a nasty rumble to it so i asked him what he was running

i say, no way!
you stuffed a big block mopar in there?

the look on his face was priceless

You did actually read what I wrote correct? Nowhere did I say anything about the gen 3 hemi.
