Oh there was, just not very deep. I'm at 1.0022
What is the original dia.? How far can you go oversize and utilize a standard rebuild kit?

I have an old OEM master, and was thinking about rebuilding it as a spare.........Any tricks to removing the front piston?

1" bore.. FSM says you can go 0.002 over, it'll work!

This is a single, so I just pulled the front adapter fitting and pushed the guts out.

Double I either use a couple dental pics or a pair of hemostats to pull it out.

To change the gas tank, I had to drop the rear end on the 54 Chevy. Removed the shackles, changed the gas tank, and the rear spring eyes were way too far to reconnect. The service manual method did not work.

Got a bright idea - put a rock bar under each rear wheel and connected the bar to the end of the leaf spring above it with a ratchet stap. Put the weight of the car on the bar and cranked down on the strap to help “flatten” the spring to get the shackle parts to line up.
Not perfect, took some tweaking, but it worked!

Wow, that's pretty elaborate. My question is "What are you setting up to do?"

This was a few years back, set it up as I was swapping out a 7 1/4 for an 8 3/4 in a 1974 Dart.

Wanted to get a look at a right length driveshaft before I started the work.

Had some parts around, so set it up on the bench to get a look.
