Does anyone have any recent experiance purhasing new SBP Rotors? Before replacing mine, I'd like to know what junk to stay away from or if there is a brand that works better with Kelsey Hayes calipers. ThanK you FABO.

Several companies machine and brand the replacement disks. Bendix, Borg Warner, Centrix (under several names) and possibly Wagner. As best I can tell, currently the raw castings come from one supplier.
You want the ones with best machining. Make sure the 'hat' is machined otherwise the casting may kiss the caliper or piston boot every rotation.

Great feedback. It would be nice if I found a local supplier thst carried all of the brands you mentioned so i could lay them side by side for inspection.

Well I first found out the hard way. But each batch could be different.
I have a set of fairly new ones in the garage. I think they are Centrix 'standard' and the hat is machined. See what Rockauto has and if they show non-generic photos. Centrics does have a premium line, when they have a batch made. At one time they sold it under a different name, Stoptech. There was a place, something like Brake warehouse, that claimed to have a 'premium' rotor - which was not drilled or slotted.

Here's snip from my spreadsheet. Slightly dated but will give you some numbers.
Rotor thickness minimum 4-piston KH?

OK The place was 'brake performance' not 'warehouse'
That is a nicely compiled list to pick from. Out of curiousity, I may try some local shops to see if by chance they have anything in stock so I can get hands on look. I was wondering if you would be able to post a pic of the slightly used set showing the area that requires critical machining?

This is an probably an original K-H manufactured rotor,
There aer weights in the vanes. I assume the hub with rotor assembly was balanced at the factory, or maybe just the rotors.
So if you see that in a used set, that's a clue its old stock even if its on the hub.

The 'hat' on the originals was left as cast.

On some (all?) of the castings made in the past couple decades, the casting is not perfectly round in that area.
If not machined down, the high spot of the casting will kiss the caliper or piston boot every rotation.

Excellent examples. I really appreciate the help. I see now exactly what to look for.

The Bendix rotor PRT 1054 that you have a note added - Returned to NAPA. Was that due to the Hat area not being machined?
I see this item listed on most of my searches and they have the highest reviews. I'm skeptical because they are also the lowest priced in comparison as well.
