Yes they are. Cage to shock tower. Are the lower bars running forward in the interior the same bars that go to your shock towers?
I cam bring that up with him tonuse if he has plan for rectifying that or covering that. What would you have recommended?Your progress is looking good. I do want to mention the placement of the front bars that go to the shock towers. You are supposed to have opposing tubes in the same plane as each other. The way they are, the door bars are above the front shock tower bars and now there are opposing forces on the vertical bar, not good. When they are inline with each other, it transfers the load to the bar behind it and continues back to the B-pillar bar, spreading the load to the rest of the cage.
I know we are coming off the front of the shock towers and tieing them back into the frame rails as well. But I get what you're saying. I'll double check with him next time I cal him. Thank you for bringing that up. I'm not a chassis guy so I definitely dont pretend to be.All he would have to do is notch the floor board and raise that bar up to intersect in line with the door bar. Or he could add a bend to that bar so it angles up to meet the door bar.
I only brought this up because your cage now supports your front suspension since you cut out your inner fenders and now the coilovers are directly supported by the cage.
He's got it covered.I’m not a pro either, but I’ve built 5-6 cages now, one of them being NHRA certified, and I constantly learn from the last one.
If your car was a typical street car, I wouldn’t bring it up. But, you’re car will be a proper fast car and therefore, steps need to be taken to maintain a higher level of quality and safety when you’re at that level.
