Red Headed Stepchild-75 Swinger LSX Swap

Well when I originally went to fire it up I had a fuel fitting fail so starting was a definite no go. I got the fittings and line in yesterday and remade the fuel lines, relocating the 10 to dual 8 Y fitting to underneath the car where it's easier to get to than before.

I remade the two transmission lines as well simply because they have been on the car for about 7 or 8 years now and just wanted to refresh them.

After all that was done, i had good pressure with no leaks. Good oil pressure on the oil pump spinning it over but I wasn't getting rpm signal when spinning over. I verified my signal, ground, and supply voltages to both cam and crank sensors, so the only thing I can think is the brand new crankshaft sensor I purchased is bad. I had 2 or 3 known good ones coming from my buddy on Friday/Saturday and then go from there and hope for a clean startup.

Well i got my issues sorted out last week but driving around and with as much that needed to be done prior to the race in decided to leave it at home and put that $200 entry fee back into the car versus give it away. So I'll wait for the March 21-22 event.

Man, you've come a long way since I last tuned in! Glad to see the car is so quick even when it isn't working!

Dyno day had arrived!

As always it made "1000" and we're having the rest for the track.

Extremely happy that the cam/crank synchronization error problem is gone. Can't wait to start letting it rip this season. 1st really big race is in May at Rockingham North Carolina for Street Car Bragging rights.

Decided to do street car index Friday night to get any last minute chassis things sorted out and then the Street Car Bragging rights shootout Saturday and Sunday. That part is more run what ya brung.bring.

Only new updates over here is I've been going over the car some more checking it over this week because the first test n tune session at outer banks dragway is this weekend and I plan to be there.

Another new update is i got really tired of the wires on the steering column when driving on the street, and to save myself the trouble of dealing with the steering column, I ordered one of tick performances new cordless setups to throw on the dart. Should be shopping out before next week since I got in on the preorder. Cs t wait to get it installed. Should make life so much more enjoyable to drive on the street and when doing drag n drives.

On top of the May street car bragging rights, I've decided to race in a 1st year boosted car series taking place at 4 semi local tracks.

I'm also going to try and make the Sick at the Rock race in April, and the Sick smokies drag in a Drive in October. Fingers crossed I'll get through the wait list for hot rod Drag week in September as well. If not there is still Drop the Hammer In NC.

So lots of stuff im hoping to do this year, and luckily for me my new garage ought to be done in Mid march so I can make easier preps for all these events coming up this season.

Unfortunately my first choice of OBX dragway didn't do their radial prep small tire event. So I went to Hertford which is not known for great prep.

First 2 passes were aborted by the 10 foot mark because it hazed the tire upon release of the trans brake.

Made some shock changes and then the third pass it started to hook but spun about 3 ft out. Looking back att he video it came up too quick and then dropped back down in the front. Which upset the rear end and caused it to spin.

Pass 4 attempt I tightened the front down about 4 more clicks on the rebound up front and boy did she plant. She planted well enough and slow enough it bypassed my travel limiters and for the first time it went on the bumper. But I caught it and dropped down to 30% throttle for a split second and got the nose headed back down, got back into it drove out the rest of the pass for a 5.70 with a 1.3 60 foot going off the back tire.

Helluva wheelstand!

I have the front end tightened down enough now and the travel limiters adjusted for March 29th which is my next testing session on a proper radial prep. Plan is to test the 1/8 a time or two to make sure she's dialed in and then fully send it down the 1/4 and wait for them to kick me out.

But thankfully she responded very well to everything this weekend and the tuneup seems perfect.

I also have my front wheel speed and driveshaft sensors working properly so my traction control will work perfectly now. This is the data log from the wheelstand pass and you can see it failling where the front wheels are up and a 50mph difference between the front and rear wheels because of it.

Looks like I'll be forced to doing the steps to get a 7.50 cert. Every single drag n drive seems to be switching to the license/cage certs guide for running their races. Which is completely understandable given the speed and times. So I can't be too mad. Just wish I didn't have to. So the plan will be to go racing the 29th at VMP, and after that get the 7.50 updates done before street car bragging rights in May.

Well all the 7.50 cert bars have been ordered. Should all be done by the 7th or 8th of April.

Also a reminder if anyone is in there area, there will be two old school mopars in this event in May. May 15-17 in Rockingham, NC. Myself and one other Plymouth.

A 1.3 and you backed out of it. Show off. LOL
Well I mean it read that off the back tire since the front wasn't back on the ground yet. lol. Ill have some real numbers the 29th at VMP with proper prep. I am going to leave the tuneup alone and get it to go a to b and see what it does to the 1/4 the way it is and ensure the shocks are dialed in.
