RHS pump gas 360

Are you talking about an assembled head directly from RHS?

Sorry - you're right I shoulda said.

I'm asking about the RHS assembled package. Just wondering if anyone had done a direct comparison between to two OOTB products?

I feel that the rhs with 1.92 valves, OOTB compared to the eddy with 2.02 valves OOTB would be very close in power. I'm not sure which one would be better on what engine. So given that the RHS in mild form are much cheaper, they still win in my book.

And there'll be guys on here hating that FACT. Oh wait... I think he was banned awhile ago. :-D

Brian, keep on doing what you do.

Wylde1.

PS. I was the guy that pointed out your other stroker build to a couple brothers in Kanata, Ontario. They bought a stroker kit from you and the RHS heads for their '69 Dart. Sounds real good. It's got "attitude" now. I don't think it will get down the track until next year though. Still got a few other things to work out - like some traction now. lol

Thanks for posting this Brian. You are a real asset to this hobby and site. You recommended the 275HL for my build to me a few months ago and my 360 is almost complete. My combo is exactly the same as yours other than some 2.02 J Heads with a 5/16 valve swap and bowl blend and runner clean up. Can't wait to fire it up. Will post a big smoky burnout once installed. :D

Real question is roughly how much would this build be? I finally got my truck and it has 250hp advertised and it is a handful to drive. Can't imagine what this would do in my pickem up.

I believe 5-6gs for the stroker setup? Check his car craft article..It has the prices for EVERYTHING!!!

Yes that's true but this isn't a STROKER! This is a basic 360 build with RHS heads. I know what a stroker would cost it Brian built it for me, we have talked. But this is impressive power without the stroker. Surely it is cheaper to build and equally as reliable.

you could do the setup I was going to do, brain said it was going to make 480-500hp prolly in the middle! with 10.6 compression and run 91, straight from brian!

OK thanks...More food for thought.:coffee2::happy1:

Thanks guys!
The total for this engine was 5700.00 and he supplied the short block, water pump, and carb. No headers either. So it's not cheap I guess...but it is quality work, quality parts and tuned so I guess you get what you pay for?

Well, maybe not cheap looking at the price tag with empty pockets, but Amen to the quote. People have to stop the; "Well, I could have gotten this or that for less" and the "Why have him tune it, you can do it" crap.

Quality is the key word. Because with it comes a engine the customer will have a very long time, done right and not re-spending on a rebuild a few years (If that) later.

I agree, that is half the problem with people. There allways talking crap and think they know better than you. LOL, what else is new?

"Build it right, build it once!" it's cheaper in the long run.

This is an awesome build and one that I want to emulate with my stock stroke 340. What do you think the difference in numbers would be with a 340 vs this 360 if everything else were the same?

It would be so close you would never tell the difference on the street is my guess!

What type of performance decrease would you expect with this engine if it had Dougs 1 5/8" headers versus the TTI step headers???

I'm glad this was brought back up. It's interesting because the combo I'm running now is VERY similar. Same carb, same TTI headers and same heads - unported with 1.92/1.625 valves. Main differences are forged flattops with around 10.5-1, Holley Strip Dominator, 1" 4-hole tapered spacer, "Stocker" (lots of duration) cam with .474" lift and 1.5 Harland Sharp rockers. I never had it on the dyno, but I've gone 11.22 @ 116+ weighing 3,540+ lbs and it can be "tuned-up" to go 11.00's. Hoping for a high 10 under the right conditions, but only if I really need to.

There was a Mopar Muscle or Hot Rod dyno comparison between TTI and Hooker smaller and bigger headers. TTI showed an advantage on the mild 360 and would probably be more on a wilder one. I just don't recall the #'s & don't have a link.

The initial TTI 1 5/8" size is not a restriction in most cases and the header seems to flow like a 1 3/4". In fact, some "Stock" class small block race cars start off as small as 1 1/2" and take 1 or 2 steps. Several Mopar Stockers use the TTI's.

I did an engine a while back, swapping from Dougs to 1 3/4 hookers, peaks were about 4-5hp apart, 440ish HP 360. The hookers peak very similar to the tti step headers. The nice thing about the tti are they make good TQ down low.

The low end tq between Dougs and tti are pretty similar.

If the extra money tti cost is worth the gains to you, buy them.
