How do I deal with it?
If I could afford it, I'd be in north Texas, New Mexico, somewhere that part.I found the best way to deal with it was moving on down to the Sunshine State.
If I could afford it, I'd be there
...... some of us like the cold fresh air and the quiet sounds of winter living in the middle of nothing. Not for everyone but works for me.
I here ya Harry The small town I live in is about 100 people and the nearest stop light on the road is 50 miles away. I love the peace and quiet and able to do what I want without bothering the neighbors.Roger that! I spent quite a few years at sea and living aboard ship even when in port. Much of it aboard submarines. Also spent a great deal of time on patrol out in the boonies (infantry, priour enlistment). Miss being at sea. Miss being in the boonies. Have no need for crowds of noisy people and big city hustle and bustle and traffic. Grew up in the country and enjoy the quiet. Wife is younger than I. When she retires, we plan on moving to a quiet place up in the Texas hill country. Maybe a 30 minute drive to the nearest town.
Have been trying to understand this 'seasonal affective disorder' thing......

If it affects me, I am not aware of it. Since retiring some years ago, I have found that my natural instinct is to be up and active from sundown to sunup and sleep days. So unless I must do something during the day...... That's what I do.
And no...... I do not have a 'smart phone' nor do I have anything to do with 'social media'. I enjoy my quiet time and have no need to be a part of the Borg-like 'collective'. Cannot begin to imagine why anybody would feel a need to do so. But different strokes for different folks, I reckon.
Best regards to all,
Harry
By the way Harry thanks for your efforts in the Military to keep us at home safe.
Well Harry, this site IS considered ‘social media’. You are here talking, interacting and sharing your thoughts. That by definition is ‘social media’.I do not have a 'smart phone' nor do I have anything to do with 'social media'. I enjoy my quiet time and have no need to be a part of the Borg-like 'collective'. Cannot begin to imagine why anybody would feel a need to do so. But different strokes for different folks, I reckon.
Best regards to all,
Harry

Nothing wrong with it, it allows us to connect with other people socially and discuss common interests...from continents away sometimes.
It’s only when it becomes a replacement for the actual physical reality of socializing with people that it becomes an issue.

People now a days have no clue what you went through.
If your avatar is you and guessing it is.
Get your blood checked. I suspect you're a vampire.
