Slant 6 1bbl

-
I'd love to have a brand new carter b&b single barrel exact replacement for my original. I loved it and I got 26/27 miles a gallon with it. It had zero pick up lol but who cares . My 2bbl set up has some much more power and top speed and pick up all around but gas millage is 10-12 now and the adapter / no air cleaner is a problem . And rusty now need to be rude. I've done and so a lot of custom things with cars and motorcycles . But yeah I want a bolt on carb that works basically out of the box call me crazy lol. I mean that's what 90% of us do when doing 4bbl stuff because it's so universal fitment . But these single barrels are a pain because there all different.

I'm kornfroosed. Up there ^^^^^ you clearly said you had bought both gaskets. As usual, talkin with you is goin in circles, so have fun!
I ordered them yes . Not here yet . We will see. I was asking here if anyone knew the exact dimension of the slant flange because I do know what the exact dimension of the autolite 1100 is . Ford folks have it posted everywhere and yet can't find what our slant is anywhere online including this site . Why dont we / or anyone have this for a slant ? Myself included lol

It's right there. In that top pic, there's your dimensions. Compare that to any 1 bbl gasket for a /6 and there's your answer! Easy as mud.

I gave the dimensions right off a 1bbl intake. Why someone would dimension the bolt holes that are at a 45 degree from each other with a 90 degree dimension is unknown. The slant intake bolts are 2.95" on center probably 3.00" to any 2 bolt gasket. 1.70" bore? Just cut one from some gasket material. For a 2 bolt on carb. Just slot the holes, nothing any of us hotrodders have not already done for Mopars.

Have a competent machinist make an adapter
I'd bet he won't even have to do that. I'd be surprised if it didn't bolt right on like it was made for it.
Alot of that stuff is more standard than people give it credit for. Adapting linkage will be the bigger job

My pic is of a ford , I was looking and asking for one for a slant 6 here and all over the internet and couldn't find the dimensions . No one here has them either it seems . Yes I've ordered a gasket for both I've already said that and waiting for them in the mail .

If this is true . I'm not going to cut the 1500$ efi up to fit . But again once gaskets arrive I'll know how different they really are.

Either I'm confused or OP isn't reading the replies. Didn't pishta give the dimensions for a 1 bbl slant carb flange in posts 9 & 30?

I really don't understand this thread. First this guy has problems with installing the intake and exhaust manifolds and is traumatized by the experience. Then he tries a 2v adapter to run a BBD and the stock air cleaner won't fit under the hood. Now he wants to spend $1500 to convert to TBI.

Something that is an order of magnitude more difficult then installing a correct air cleaner or learn how to properly install the intake and exhaust manifolds.

It makes no sense to me.

They aren't the same as Holley said.
Top black gasket is the autolite 1100. Bottom one is slant 6 .

I'm not gonna slot the holes in 1400 efi lol . If it was carb I'd round them out or slot the holes but Holley for sure won't warranty it if I cut it up . The gaskets all came and answered the question . The Holley 1bbl which was meant to be exact replacement of the autolite 1100 will not fit a slant 6 stock 1bbl intake

Yes.

Pretty good bet they are the same/compatible size; see here. If you want to be absolutely certain, buy a flange gasket for an Autolite 1100 and a flange gasket for a(ny) Slant-6 1bbl carb and hold them up side-by-each, as they say in parts of maritime Canada.

If you wind up doing this, please lettuce know how it works out for you. Perhaps this time Holley will have put out a retrofit TBI system worth messing with. Dog knows they've certainly had enough tries…!
They are not the same size .

Just make an adapter then. Holley EFI on top, Holley 1920 on bottom. Use countersunk screws. Probably raise your EFI 1/4 inch. Marine grade plywood, Delrin, Aluminum plate.

So this thread just dies?? Where did Johnny go, What about an adapter?? I would think every Slanter on this board would love to adapt to bolt on EFI if they could... Any follow up to this?

Yeah, I saw this video. Only one out there regarding Slant Six with a Sniper that I know of, & its for a constant speed Generator, not a daily, in traffic, driver. Wish there would be a actual Dart on the road with this setup...
