And my point went right over your head apparently.
I know where your point is.

40-45% think otherwise, but F them, right.... Well done!

This entire situation is like a hurricane wiping out FL, NC, Tenn. Hope nobody ever needs assistance, then says no to any help from those horrible places... sure they will. Since we are all Americans. I know plenty of people from California that assisted with the Helene situation regardless of "viewpoints".... Be better!

I don't know. In NC alone there were 126,000 homes destroyed, 104 confirmed deaths and 60 billion in damages. I know the damage amount will probably be greater in California, but lots of people in NC are still living in tents and make shift shacks in the dead of winter. Here we are months after the fact.

And that isn't acceptable either!

Here's a kicker. The American Indians called the LA Basin "The Valley of Fire" but nobody read that memo. lol

Same logic applies to tornado alley, areas prone to hurricanes, floods, etc. Sucks all the way around when mother nature knocks these areas on their ***. Hopefully the folks affected can get back on their feet soon.

I agree! Every time there's a bad one there, I shake my head and wonder why people even live there.

High winds today, with higher winds predicted for Tuesday into Wednesday. Flying by the seat of our pants out here right now. Have the car packed up with valuable paperwork, etc, in case they say go. This has been a long week, can't wait for Thursday. Wish us luck !!!!!!

There is definitely a bigger population of vulnerable people there too. It’s just a place with fewer opportunities than Southern California. A lot of socio-economic factors.
This subject is a lot deeper than most people’s thinking ability. Prejudices and bias prevent a lot of people from being empathetic.

Those same prejudices and biases prevented some help from the government in the NC case.

Where are you at? I’m in norco and if you need anything don’t be afraid to ask.

Judging from past experience after rhe '94 Quake, never underestimate SoCal resiliency to BS despite Insurance concerns.

Just saying as a concerned citizen/Insurance payer.

I'm going through Insurance BS and waiting to hear how and at what costs awaits me on an years old Farmers policy. My costs are likely to double and would be untenable or cost prohibitive in my circumstances.

This is a wake up call to all and being on a fixed income blows as the options are limited.

Ugh !
