yes..pretty crappy weather today....not so good for tomorrow ....but Friday looks good....well it changed...LOL

51 to 55 on the west side of the valley.....Track is on east side of town....so you are safe...
 
75 Duster will run Friday TnT for sure.....Saturday not sure.....

No runs on this motor yet....so we will see.....I think it should be faster then other motor...but the clocks down lie
 
Test n Tune....not tonight....

fired car up ...backed off trailer....while it is warming up...i see fuel leak..where AN8 hose goes into AN Fitting at the fuel regulator....tried to fix it..nope.

fired car up...drove on trailer...good night
 
Got new Steel Braided line and fitting delivered today by Summit as i am 400 plus miles away...
Will be home for the weekend and get this fuel line fixed to make this car raceable again...
 
Took this old Duster out to the races today....Saturday/Sunday race but we only run on Saturday. Gotta get everything ready to go to Bakersfield on Wednesday morning.

New engine engine with no passes on it...

Daughter driving....wind blowing...overcast and ugly...

1st pass 11.35 @ 117.22 slow 1.58 60 ft..
2nd pass 11.29 @ 116.88 60 ft better 1.55...

1st round dial 11.34.....running into 20 mph head wind...
runs 11.35 ....but her and our friend she was running both go red.....hers is a few ticks redder....going to home...weather is getting worst...they shorten Super Pro to 1/8.....
60 ft clocks show 1.50......was .04 faster to the 1/8 then the 11.29 pass then then wind ......only 114 mph
Drive it up on the trailer.....tie it down....want to change a few things once I get back in town from working out of town... 4.30 rear gears need to go...

Friends cooking burgers......have a burger....BS and then head for home....

Been a while for the old 75 Duster to get to the track...
Going to TnT this Saturday.....Daughter driving again....Weather suppose to be in the 50s....Certainly better then last May....
Had car running a couple of weeks ago....cleaned it yesterday....needs some more cleaning as it is sitting on a open car trailer...

She is on way home from a 2 week Caribbean cruise......

The clocks dont lie like the dyno....LOL
 
Made to the TnT.......and you find out why it is called a TnT,,,,

Unload car...get it fired up and warming up as it is 50 degrees out with a 10 mph head wind.....Tonya drives car around pits to warm it up ...takes it to Tech....will not turn over...dead battery?....Jump it and get it back to the pits..
Pull battery and head to AutoZone a few miles from the track....battery checks out find....85% charged...ok.....buy new battery cables and new battery anyway as I need another one....new battery and cable car is up and running.

1st pass down the track....car pulls the front tires...and run an 11.110 @ 117.50,,,,,mine shaft conditions in Vegas ....DA around 1500 but still that 10 mph head wind....

Then we have a problem with the car not wanting to idle in gear.....adjust idle speed.adjust idle mixture....idles great in pits in or out of gear....get to starting line it dies....starts up and once it dropped into gear it dies....too cold for this ****....going home....

Once it warms up....going to pull the carb off and go thru it.....Car has been sitting since May....
So we did get a new PB for this car.....
 
Which is why I stopped racing on a regular basis. Even without breakdowns I would at times only get 3 runs. And the fact that our local track has no shade and temps are in the high 90 or even 100s for 10-14 week stretches made me decide I would rather be in the mountains fishing or riding my dirtbike.
 
I could have gotten 10 passes in yesterday if the I did not have to go after a battery.....and fiddle fart around with a carb....and then lastly we had a small wiring issue.
My daughter and I had fun....spend the day together....
 
Old Duster going to get a little pit of a face lift for the new year.

Ordered up a new Fiberglass hood with 6 pac scoop on it...replace well worn fiberglass hood that has many spider cracks plus battle damage from getting blown off from wind and new fiberglass rear trunk lid....
Probable wont see them for a few month.....using Unlimited Fiberglass were I have gotten two other hoods ...bumpers and truck lid before. They are about 200 miles from Vegas .....going to pick up at Unlimited....Shipping was almost 500 for those two items....Can drive there and back on less a tank of Diesel.....

Then maybe get the old DA sander out later this year.....
