I have been focusing mainly on getting all mockup under hood finished. I have changed things, added things and had to back up a few times and go a different route but its coming together nicely and all functioning like it should.

Decided it was time to plumb the power steering lines. I decided it might be smarter for me to invest a little in some plastic tubing to see how i want to run lines and to give myself and idea of how much to buy. Power steering line isnt very cheap and I would hate to have to waste some because it didnt look or work properly.

Got the aluminum version of my homemade air box back from HotRod shop. It fits perfectly, on final assembly I will put a rubber strip on it to save my paint and not sure but I might powdercoat it or just polish it. Not sure yet.

Ran into one of those step backs. I never did like the way the throttle had to make a big swoop in front of throttle body. Decided to not run a manual A518 so I had to get a TV cable to work somehow. After 3 tries I finally came up with a bracket design that was sturdy and didnt interfere with everything else. It will need some final welding work and some smoothing and paint, but it functions nicely with my throttle body setup.

At final assembly I will match the cables and get the proper length to look nice, but with that all my mockup under the hood is finished. I have made everything I needed and checked it all so here are some shots of my finished up engine compartment (untill paint and final assembly)

And the last piece to call the underhood done is the proper way to shut it up. I couldnt resist going ahead and putting it on with it came in lol it was calling to me lol.

Well that was about 6 months worth of work lol. Seems like it took longer that that lol. I am gonna move to next part. Fitting seats, console?

I know its been over a year since my last update. Alot has been going on. I was just about to tear it back down to send off to have final body work and paint when I hit a wall.. Once painted and body put together, the little building I was working out of wasnt gonna work. Doors would hit walls and building was small. So I saved and worked on building me a new garage to work on and store once done. So now I have a nice place to work on it and im broke haha. So back to saving to start again haha.
I am starting to think building this car wasnt the most financially sound thing to do.... haha so here are some pictures of the new facilities..

I moved the Duster to its new home and did do 1 thing to it while it was here. I had narrowed the rear end another 4 inches and ordered some new wheels and tires. I tried out my new lift and installed my new tires.. Much better.

I know I'm jumping a ways back, but do you have part numbers for the throttle cable and kickdown cable you used? I'm about to put a hemi in my dart and plan on using a cable throttle body. TIA.

Great shop, that is the same lift I had, it is great and I love mine. One thing immediately after assembly be sure and retighten the stainless cable that runs over the top for the safety dogs. It takes a couple of stretches and retightens to get the cable fully tight.

I used a LS style cable for my throttle. The transmission cable is the lokar 727 cable. I will dig through my paperwork and see if I have the part numbers wrote down somewhere. Its been a minute since I bought them.

I have messed with the Duster a little here and there when time permits. I did manage to get steering column and wheel installed. So I can turn it now lol.

I have been working on my oil cooler again. I didnt like how much it stuck out below the bumper. So have I since moved the oil cooler up behind bumper and installed it with a slight angle. I plan on welding a piece on the rear of the bumper to force air down through it.

Very nice clean work! I really like the hydroboost idea, what booster did you use? It looks really compact. I was using a small vacuum booster but was not happy with the results or clearance issues. It sat right on top of my coil pack.

I like the oil cooler! I've considered putting one right there also. I think it would work great and look pretty good since I modified my front bumper to have an opening in it. Porsche RS style!
