Stock 360 4bbl intake

-
I have seen that manifold support a 444ci stock appearing duster to 11.40’s and a 422 ci duster to 11.75’s. The divider question is tough to answer. I believe the current thinking for using that manifold for race only is to cut the divider down. This is my 340 intake and is cut a bit lower than ideal. I made a test divider that I could remove. My “race” only combo liked no divider. I didn’t lose any 60’, but it got a hair easier to launch the car.

We had a 70 cuda AAR 444CI small block car, but it was a 4sp and the owner lost interest/got frustrated before the true potential of the car was attained. Plus he is still pushing it all through the same exhaust manifold as I am. You really have to be GOOD to run a stock appearing 4sp car.

Being is how this is really me just practicing on this intake, it’s not all the professional or pretty. I still have some cleaning up to do but ran out of time this weekend. There was a lot more metal to remove than what it appears lol

Good start! I would make sure you rounded the edges so the charge can start the turn as smooth as possible. The side wings are wasted plenum volume.

Yep that’s my plan. I think I’ll cut the divider down just a hair more and then smooth out the inside of the intake and throat as much as I can

me personally, I wouldn't go "down" any more. You can always add a 1/4 inch spacer under the carb IF it needs it.

and here on both ends. These intakes respond well to carb spacers because it gives the charge more time/space to start the turn instead of just slamming into the plenum floor and puddling raw fuel. Which then runs down the runner floor reeking havoc with the a/f ratio.
