Fun town that Dubuque. I am a hour and a half east. I go to Mopar's on the Mississippi every year. Nice regional show if you've never been. Lots of fun driving the old cars in the hills. My Son and his family live in Dubuque so we head north from Moline, nice easy drive.
Soft copper? We pull a new line around here. You might be able to do it with a come-along.Honda needs head gasket. Not going to fix it.
So much for that.
Water line to supply my small garage/restroom sorung a leak.
Set up 45 gallon plastic drum,12 volt demand pump and its at least useable again.
I put in a tee and a valve so i can turn on supply for 15 minutes to fill drum. Seems to work.
Need to decide what to do in spring. Fix or push a smaller line through existing.
Snowed here all day, wind is bad. Seems to be getting worse not better.and temp is dropping.

1-1/4” black poly pipe. 280 feet. I can get 1/2” air brake tubing,it will supply enough volume.Soft copper? We pull a new line around here. You might be able to do it with a come-along.
Can you get PEX tubing? It will never break again and is impervious to freeze expansion.1-1/4” black poly pipe. 280 feet. I can get 1/2” air brake tubing,it will supply enough volume.
I used that to supply water, from my house, to my pool, 30 years ago, still stands strong. The Electric guy, even let me put it in their ditch, 50 yds to the pool house....Can you get PEX tubing? It will never break again and is impervious to freeze expansion.
My last house was plumbed entirely in PEX and it was great. We even lost power once for a week in the middle of January and half the lines in the house froze up. Zero damage when they all thawed out again and no leaks.I used that to supply water, from my house, to my pool, 30 years ago, still stands strong. We rented a mobile home one time, furnace ran continous in the dead of winter. Water lines ran the length on the inside walls. My last house was plumbed entirely in PEX and it was great. That sucks. I can't imagine not being able to get it taken care of right away. My dentist does root canals and temporary caps at any time. He would make time if it was an emergency.Well, the tooth saga continues. I had the evaluation done today by the DMD and her prognosis is that I need a root canal and cap. If she finds that the tooth is too compromised when she opens it up, I go back to the oral surgeon for extraction. She sounds confident it will be able to be fixed though.
Bad news is that it’s 2 weeks until it can be done. I called multiple other practices to see if there was anything sooner anywhere (5 different offices with 27 DMDs total) and this is the soonest anyone can do it.
Looks like I just have to plow through the pain and hope the infection doesn’t come back.
It’s one of the drawbacks of living in a major metro area. Too many people and not enough healthcare providers. Add in that it’s College Winter break time for students to get dental care and there just isn’t any available capacity unless it is a serious dental emergency...and they have decided this isn’t enough of an emergency compared to the other things on their plate to squeeze me in any earlier. That sucks. That's how ours is. 4 dentists there. Was 5 till recently the old man retired. We never wait long for anything. Have had work done same visit as a checkup already. That sucks. That will be great Tim and I'll really be lookin' forward to bein' able to hang out, relax and gab with you. One thing and another, I wasn't around last couple times you were out, and then at Carlisle it seems like we just didn't get the time.Hey, when i am at hoppys this july, we need to meet up., another member met!
Thanks Rani. Coming from you, and having seen some of your stuff, I take that as a real pat on the back. You are a peach.Beautiful !!!!!!!
In Hoppyland there nothing Chief Hoppy and Number One Engine Cooley Ron not fix! No guarantee tho. Main steam stop wal-we!fixed
Yeah it is. Be extra nice to see it in engine, brakes, interior, trim, AC, elecric, lights, vinyle, etc, etc, etc. What you glimpse in the foreground, wedged between the Monte and the door, is what I ran through in the meantime -Hey! I’ve been in that garage before! Nice to see it in paint Ron!
I rent you number one mobile home in Hoppyland never freeze up cause no watyer. You want water? You get bucket. You got pee? Got poo? No problem; got toilet; you pour bucket in, pee, poo go back in other bucket. Nnly thing you worry about is fall off blocks and roll down hill to Hoppy house. No guarantee tho!We rented a mobile home one time, furnace ran continous in the dead of winter. Water lines ran the length on the inside walls.
They froze. Broken plastic everywhere. When i discovered it, i turned off the water, turned heat down, removed cylindrical ice cubes and replaced the plastic.
Brought heat back up and went under mobile to figure out why.
The ducts were cut open every 10 feet, and crawlspace was uninsulated. Wasnt very long before i got tge hell outta there.
I know pex is freeze proof, i will make do with the temporary setup until spring. 45 gallon drum should do ok with the low flush toilet.
All fix! No longer have to worry about rolling down to Hoppy house; trailer tied to tree.I rent you number one mobile home in Hoppyland never freeze up cause no watyer. You want water? You wait tho. I fix this up just like tractor, just like Cherokee, just like Monte. All it take is 3 years to get Monte down then 2 years to scatter trailer all over Hoppy yard and garage.

Yeah I was in Wyoming, Montana, Alberta, Saskatchewan a couple winters working on rigs. The wind out there doesn't blow it sucks! But for pure cold, that arid 30-or-40-below hasn't got NOTHIN' on the great lakes shore at zero. You on the lakeshore? I think there's still bits of my flesh stuck to rocks strung between Barcelona and Buffalo NY.So someone sneaking around my yard takin pictures??
Gonna have to get out the salt loads agin!!
But in these parts the salt dont sting as much as the winter air ...
