Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good Morning All! Wife's doctor appt. went pretty good, will be 2 less invasive surgeries to get those stones out. End of month and Valentines Day, oh well. After 30 years of marriage we are rolling with that.

The weather has been way too nice for Farm Show week. Looks like we will get some snow Sat-Sun. Got some flurries here now, but temp is near 40

Good Morning

Minus 3F here today. I hope to pick up my newly turned drive shaft today. My little shop lathe does most anything I need but just can't swing a drive shaft.

The weird things you learn about your car at times.
Learned that the hemi orange colored throttle spring was used ONLY in 1967 on the Big Block engines.
Why would they do that?? Why that color??
My car for example, you have a turquoise colored engine, black air cleaner, chrome valve covers and you use a hemi orange colored spring??

That's why Mopars look so good under the hood. Not boring like Chevy black and chrome.

Springs were often colored for identification, like every different spring in a brake drum is a different color. 340 K members had a flat washer welded on for identification. Something for line workers to recognize or a different spring length/rate/strength is my best guess.

Is this stupid or wot: Got an email from OPGI saying today's the last day of their big interior parts sale, so with the idea of putting in a big order, I clicked on their site. Well, in yet another advancement in ciber-idiocy, they now have a utility that comes on and doesn't let you access the site at all until you put in your vehicle make, model and year. And it doesn't work! Click ANY model of car, it just buffers for like, minutes, then says "Vehicle model not found". Couldn't find Monte Carlo. Couldn't find Chevelle. Couldn't find Barracuda. It's a world gone stupid.
