Stop in for a cup of coffee

8 hours work so far. Darn klunky old bandsaw giving me grief. But thankfully most of my cutting is done. So is the welding. Both ends nearing the finishing stage.

I've cleared the driveway...Now it's coming down like Gangbusters again.....:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

Looks like this storm is following the same track as yesterday, blowing NW along the beach and just teasin' us. Did get a tex from homie in the neighboring village stating there was snow on the highest peak nearby.

just cleared mine. small chance on snow showers yet, but not looking for any more accumulation. If you want to believe the forecast, they are already calling for a foot here NEXT weekend

Fired up the Toro. 30 min. Didn't do a bang up job but it the remainder will be melted tomorrow.

No snow in our future forecast but next weekend brings single digit lows with highs in teens. Yuck

Good !!! I'll be in Warm Weather then.............

Put a decibel meter 19” away from the exhaust and at a 45* angle. Ca law evidently states 95 decibels is max at idle. Mine measured 124. Exhaust changes in the near future. Alignment is priority though.

I glanced at a pretty thorough e-mail that was fowarded through mopax (a mopar autocrossers listserv).
I'd say there are a lot of missing pieces in the hysteria.
#1 What scale is the test?
#2 According to CHP, the muffler test was for approving mufflers under a program no longer active. See Questions 9 -11.
#3 CHP guidelines are basically common sense: See first part of CHP Bulletin 98-100
Enforcement Guidelines
The only drivers who should be cited are those whose vehicles:

1) are not equipped with a muffler

2) clearly emit an offensive, harsh, excessive noise, or

3) have a clearly defective exhaust systems (holes, leaks, etc.)

Clearly the officer has some discretion, but its also clear the department is discouraging citations that can't be proven in court. They basically say the muffler test is impractical for law enforcement in traffic.
"Enforcement using Section 27150 or 27151 VC is usually more appropriate and effective."

My takeaway is Don't Panic.

I don't want to believe. But maybe I'll get some fuel, I mean real gasoline, this week.

That was my opinion on the dilemma also. They barely have the manpower to enforce traffic safety laws.

Yeah, I figure i’ll move the mufflers back where they belong. They exit at my feet right now. Then put some decent mufflers on it later or when I’m forced to.

Took the wife for a spin in the Duster today. Down to the gas station then to the grocery store. The car definitely turns heads. Not sneaking up on anyone!
