Stop in for a cup of coffee

so, do you all recall the 383 I picked up a few weeks back? Got around to trying to take it all apart after soaking in ATF for 2 weeks. Its in very good shape. no wear whatsoever on the lobes or in the bores(that I can get too). Sad part is, its still stuck and I'm not sure where or what is stopping it. Got the cam pulled, its a .495/.495 Comp Cams solid mechanical. very nice shape. Pistons are 13:1 TRWs. the 906 heads have been redone, bigger intake Valve at 2.14 and a 1.81 exhaust cut in, mic'd with the calipers. Desktop dyno puts that combo at 460 hp and 485 ft lbs. I'm curious if I can save this sucker, seems like someone rebuilt it and let it sit. For a LONG time

I still think Kroil is some of the best for breaking things apart. We use it at work all the time. Slowly with a breaker bar force in one direction, then the other. Work back and forth. Wait a day, rinse - repeat

ill try it, thanks

Pull the crank, once the bearings are open you can see if it is. Usually easy that way then to bio smash the pistons out.

lol WE USED TO PUT THEM IN 55 GALLON DRUMS OF WAST OIL FOR A WEEK. worked GREAT BUT A FREAKING MESS.

I will sponsor it if this can go on the hood!
