Stop in for a cup of coffee

Just saw a ad for the reenactment at Gettysburg this year. Marilyn commented how long will the north be able to reenact with the confederates before they get banned from it! Seriously a good question!

The statues there was a big deal I think last year. Craig might be a great time to go there this year. To bad the reenactments are a week before. Saw it once pretty cool.

Right especially with the bars and stripes. It is a reenactment. Guess if they want to do away with that we can do away with Junetenth??

Around here there are still a lot of them flying under the US flags at peoples homes. Just a matter of time everything goes away if they even have a chance to offend anyone. Like Christmas as a federal holiday etc. If we do one we have to do them all!

Oh to me its just a bunch of attention getters...pound sand!! Can't change history!! Just try TOGETHER to make it better!!

I'm really looking forward to our Gettysburg visit.
Personally I've studied this battle, and have a clear day by day understanding of it.
I realize I won't see all I want in one day, and plan on making it a yearly visit.

They will probably not ban it for political correctness since the South lost at Gettysburg.

The EPA might ban it for all the air pollution from the musket and cannon fire though...

I have been there 4 or 5 times and just barely saw most of it. First time do the visitors center and see the show at the cyclorama. It is also air conditioned, gets hot as hell there in July. That blew my mind how well they set the terrain to the painting. It was restored a few years ago.

Another battle site I walked was Chickamauga.
I did it when I was doing my Advanced Officer's Course.
The site was marked by unit and day in battle.
A classmate got to walk the actual ground his Great-Great-Grandfather (Confederate) fought and died on.
A very emotional time for him...and us.
One of those things I'll never forget!!

How's the missing tooth Dave?
I think it is lonely...wherever it is.

I am still in a fair bit of pain...but it’s getting better each day!

I’m getting tired of eating soft foods. Mashed potatoes, cottage cheese and scrambled egg is all I have had for the past 3 days. It will probably be another day or two before I can eat food that requires chewing.

Thankfully, beer doesn’t need to be chewed!
