Hey bartender!
Very! I had this crazy idea that I could teach her to reason like a guy... 10 years of failure before I figured out that she is as unlikely to change as I am.slow learner ?

I like it.. I may have to borrow that one.Mine line is "I agree"
It also helps lead into "I agree, but what if...." Makes it sound like its NOT all your idea...haha!!I like it.. I may have to borrow that one.
You said "inner"so I can't find a 64 chassis manual, but I'm guess the front suspension is relatively unchanged. So as far as tie rods for the 64 polara would be 2 inners, 2 outers right?

Cool thanks.Same!
If you want, I have a bunch of pics of abandoned farm equipment pieces and such I’ve taken I can send to you.I feel like one of those guys who plays a bunch of chess games all at the same time. I have 6 different images in progress right now that I keep switching between.
Right now, I m working on my abandoned cars series. Here’s one I just finished...

You know, as much as farm equipment costs, I find it surprising how much farm equipment gets abandoned. If you want, I have a bunch of pics of abandoned farm equipment pieces and such I’ve taken I can send to you.
Thanks, but I’m only interested in abandoned, rusted cars and trucks for this series. If you want, I have a bunch of pics of abandoned farm equipment pieces and such I’ve taken I can send to you.
most around here isn’t worth much. Most of the modern stuff yeah, but anything made pre-1980, not so much. And even the modern stuff after a few years is so tore up and worn out, it’s not worn but mere pennies of the original sales price. Now tractors themselves will hold a tad bit of value but discs, plows(nobody plows anymore), harrows, cultivators etc are pretty much worth only their weight in scrap steel. Which isn’t much. Combined with a lot of farmers around here always wondering when the next downturn in farming is, they tend to hold onto stuff for parts and emergencies for when times get dryYou know, as much as farm equipment costs, I find it surprising how much farm equipment gets abandoned.
They must be able to write off depreciation quite quickly. What does a new combine cost? 500K? guess..most around here isn’t worth much. Depends on model and type. Combine itself, 150k to upwards of a 1,000,000+. Then you have another 50,000 to 250,000 in the heads, again depending on type and model. They must be able to write off depreciation quite quickly. What does a new combine cost? 500K? guess..
And in what 5 years dump them in a field where they break?Depends on model and type. Combine itself, 150k to upwards of a 1,000,000+. Then you have another 50,000 to 250,000 in the heads, again depending on type and model.
Case IH is also selling a weight sensitive tire combo now that inflates and deflates automatically based on weight and to stabilize and reduce the chances of getting stuck. That set up... 18,000 PER TIREThey must be able to write off depreciation quite quickly. What does a new combine cost? 500K? guess..
Nah. Combines tend to last longer. They’re not yanking heavy amounts of weight plus the ground resistance tractors do.And in what 5 years dump them in a field where they break?
And the tractor is still being used? Good deal.....That is why farm stuff costs so much, they last a long time. That is why I am taken back by the abandoned stuff across the country.Farming isn’t cheap anymore. Never really was. Think about this. The Hemi road runners and Cudas of 1970 were roughly 4,000 bucks. The one tractor we have, when purchased new in 1971, 56,000 dollars.
Yep, a bit over 12,000 hours(depending on which formula one uses, can be as much as 900,000 miles) on her. Runs like a champ. Doesn’t like cold starts without the block heater though. And the tractor is still being used? Good deal.....That is why farm stuff costs so much, they last a long time.
