Stop in for a cup of coffee

Having owned my own custom auto Upholstery business, I can tell you it takes a lot of practice and experience to become good at it. But, just like everything else, it really isn’t that hard to do once you learn how.

The main reason I retired from doing it was the carpal tunnel syndrome that was developing. I used to spend every night soaking my hands and wrists in very hot water followed by long soaks in ice water just to be able to make a fist again.
Yeah I can imagine. I don’t want to do it for a business, just to save some money. I don’t need SEMA quality but can’t afford what the local shop wants for something basic (2300 for the polara bench seat...)

No seat covers available?

Just buy a universal bench seat cover and customize it to fit. You will never be able to sew your own that easily.
I did the back seat in the '66. BUT not my first time doing upholstery.with this machine

Letting it warm up a few more degrees then run over to the junkyard. Still need to find a wheel that matches the original 3 on the neon. The other yard that thought he had one, wanted to sell me the same style I am trying to replace for $25. :BangHead:
Did my yard run this morning. Got a wheel for $7 plus $3 core -I can take the bent one in next trip. Also got a plastic bezel for around my radio, hvac vents etc. for $4. Mine had some broken attaching points. If you get a wheel with a good tire on they will charge you $20 and mark it if you want to bring it back. I did not need a tire and really did not want to play the game. So, I found one with barely any tread and the edge worn bad. Dude still wanted to charge for it. I'm like really? Him "it will pass inspection". I continued showing why it was junk till he said OK - lol I think they push it in hopes people just won't bother returning them for refund.
